How do the physician assistant online training programs regulate their quality and accreditation? Is there a board or an oversight committee? What are the requirements a school must have to have an online training program for physician assistants?
by Sotera Gacad-Cowan on 05/21/2018
Both online and campus-based physician assistant degree programs are accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). You can learn more about their accreditation requirements on their website.

I thought non-profit meant no tuition? Please clarify. I'm looking for a non-profit online college to transfer to, because I can't afford of out of pocket costs and am low on financial aid/loan options. Can anyone assist me on finding one that's a good fit, please? Thank you.
by Concetta on 07/13/2017
Hi Concetta! Thank you for reaching out. Non-profit does not mean tuition-free. Non-profit means that a school charges tuition that is put back into the institution to serve the student. Hopefully that is helpful information!
Can credits of an unacreddited degree from an acreddited college be recognizable by and transferable to other institutions? Can a regionally accredited college possibly run unacreddited degree programs? Is it risky to pursue an unacreddited degree from a regionally accredited college? Will regional institution Accredition override program unaccreditation?
by Thoko Nthenda on 07/02/2017
Hi, Thoko! Thanks for reaching out with your question! All degrees offered by accredited colleges are covered by that accreditation. Thus, an accredited college will not offer unaccredited degrees. However, it is important to be aware of the fact that regional accreditation differs from programmatic accreditation. It is certainly possible and very likely that a regionally accredited college will offer degrees that are not programmatically accredited. This only matters in certain academic disciplines because not all subjects have specific accrediting organizations. You will want to do research on programmatic accreditation for whatever field you are hoping to enter. Regional accreditation is not equivalent to programmatic accreditation nor can it be substituted for programmatic accreditation. That said, many academic disciplines do not require a specific programmatic accreditation and therefore regional accreditation will be enough to allow for the transfer of credits.

I think your information is out of date. For Rasmussen it lists low tuition, but they charge at least double what you have listed.
by kc on 06/23/2017
Hi KC. We appreciate your concern. All of the tuitions we list are the most recently-reported data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
