Overview
Since 1987, Pennsylvania Institute of Health and Technology (PIHT), formerly West Virginia Career Institute, has provided students with career skills for today's workforce. The school's curriculum focuses on career training that combines classroom teaching and real-world experiences. Many programs can be completed in a matter of months for those wishing to enter their career sooner.
Student Appeal
The small class sizes draw many students to the Pennsylvania Institute of Health and Technology in Mount Braddock, Pennsylvania. Upon completion of a chosen program, the school offers job placement services to help students make a smooth transition into the workforce. The school networks with area employers to provide graduates with local job opportunities. Graduates also have the opportunity for "brush-up training" so they can upgrade their skills to stay current with newly-introduced technologies.
Financial
The school has a Program Participation Agreement with the Department of Education. This means that qualified students can receive Pell Grants and other forms of federal aid to help pay their tuition. The staff at the financial aid office is onsite to help find other forms of aid for those who have trouble paying for their classes.

System installation and application software are emphasized, but financial, business and administrative practices are also explored. Students learn office management skills to progress within a current administrative position, or to begin a new office career. - Information Technology/AccountingInformation Technology/Accounting
Students in this program receive a strong foundation in computer technology and other information systems used today. Curriculum includes troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading computers as well as managing servers and the fundamentals of networks. - Medical AssistingMedical Assisting
Graduates of this program receive the skills needed to enter the Medical Assisting career. Administrative procedures and patient care are the main focus of the curriculum. Students receive classroom teaching and hands-on training in actual healthcare settings. - Medical Office AdministrationMedical Office Administration
Students in this program are trained in healthcare matters that include billing and other office duties. Communication skills and computer abilities are explored as well as patient care. Graduates generally find jobs in the offices of insurance companies, doctors and other healthcare settings.
