Overview
The PJA School is located in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. The school offers both Associate Degrees and Diploma Degrees in Legal Studies, Accounting Studies, Business Studies and Continuing Studies. Since opening its doors in 1981, the PJA School has offered its students career-focused education to adults who want to attain the skills they need for the jobs they want as quickly as possible. The PJA School was one of the first schools for Paralegal training in area, and its business school is well respected. Students of the PJA School come from all walks of life; from high school graduates to professionals who want to go back to school to get a degree.

Student Appeal
Students at the PJA School enjoy flexible classes that they can take during the day, evening and on weekends. This makes it easier for students to work their school work into their busy family and work lives. Additionally, PJA's Diploma programs can be completed in only seven months, and the ASB program can be completed in only 18 months. This means that students can get the required skills quickly and can enter the workforce as soon as they are done with classes. PJA credits are also transferable to 5 area Colleges and Universities. The faculty is well trained and supportive, and students can take advantage of the excellent career services department on campus. Students can get help with resumes, interviewing skills, job searches and more.

Financial
Financial aid is available to those who qualify in the form of grants, scholarships and loans. Additionally, the majority of students at PJA qualify for tuition assistance through PJA’s own interest-free Payment Plan. The PJA School is accredited the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).

Legal Studies

  This comprehensive program is designed for students who are pursuing a Paralegal degree for the first time. Some of the many topics covered include civil litigation, criminal law, legal drafting and transcription. Also, students will be able to take courses like Principles of Economics and Introduction to Philosophy.
• Paralegal Including Computer Applications (Career Diploma)Paralegal Including Computer Applications (Career Diploma)
  Students in this program will have the opportunity to learn the most up-to-date computer skills as well as a large number of software applications that keep all businesses running efficiently. Computer professionals teach these classes, and students will gain an introduction to office management principles and computerized bookkeeping.
• Legal Secretary (ASB Degree)Legal Secretary (ASB Degree)
  Students enrolled in this program are provided with the necessary technical skills, legal terminology and computer training to work in an advanced capacity in a law practice or other business settings. Classes include Law Office Management, Legal Terminology, and Legal Transcription, in addition to computer courses such as Keyboarding, Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Bookkeeping to provide complimentary skills required in any business setting.

  This program exposes students to topics including law, administration, accounting, taxation and management. Courses include Civil Litigation, Wills & Estates, and Legal Drafting, plus accounting fundamentals such as Payroll, Managerial Accounting, Business and Individual Taxes. Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in legal, business and accounting organizations in a variety of roles.

Accounting Studies

• Business and Accounting Specialist (ASB Degree)Business and Accounting Specialist (ASB Degree)
  This program is an intensive one, and students will study topics ranging from accounting fundamentals to auditing. All students have to complete a special project that is designed to demonstrate their knowledge about and correct applications of what they’ve learned. Some of the many topics covered in this program include Payroll and Payroll Taxes, Automated Accounting, and Business and Individual Income Taxes.
• Para-Accountant Specialist (Career Diploma)Para-Accountant Specialist (Career Diploma)
  This program is aimed at students who have taken previous college courses or who have on-the-job training, and who want to acquire good accounting skills. Topics covered include Financial Accounting, Automated Accounting and Managerial Accounting. The program also covers Business and Individual Income Taxes and Auditing.

  This program covers topics including law, administration, accounting, taxation and management. Courses include Civil Litigation, Wills & Estates, and Legal Drafting, in addition to accounting basics such as Payroll, Managerial Accounting, Business and Individual Taxes. Graduates of this program are fully prepared to look for employment in legal, business and accounting organizations in various capacities.

  Students in this program graduate with a number of career options in a variety of industries. All courses are taught by practicing Certified Public Accountants and computer professionals who bring real-world experience to the classroom.
• Continuing StudiesContinuing Studies
  The PJA School has joined two well respected schools in the Delaware Valley, Immaculata University and Chestnut Hill College, to make it as easy and convenient for PJA graduates to continue their studies once they have acquired an Associate in Specialized Business Degree. The credits earned at PJA are able to be transferred to Chesnut Hill as well as Immaculata. Strayer University and the University of Phoenix accept many of the PJA credits as well.
