Overview
Since 1980, the New England Culinary Institute has offered students the skills needed to compete in the competitive culinary arts industry. Recently, the school has made its program available online for students nationwide. Students can choose from classes like Cooking Theory and Food Science, Ethics as they relate to the food industry and Nutrition.
Student Appeal
The option of getting an online culinary education from the comfort of your own home is attractive to busy professionals or adults with full schedules. Others recognize the school for its famous alumni, including television personality Alton Brown. NECI offers a comprehensive education that involves both hands-on training and traditional book skills for a smooth transition into careers at popular restaurants or other related fields.
Financial
NECI offers the traditional forms of financial aid to help qualified students reduce their tuition. Grants, loans and scholarships are available through the school, but students can also apply for private monies as well. Some local employers and organizations offer scholarships to students living in the area. Start the process by filling out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and contacting the school's financial aid department.
