Concordia University - Portland

Overview
Concordia University opened its doors for the first time at its current Portland, OR, location in 1905. Since, it has evolved into a private, Christian, liberal arts institution that welcomes students of any faith, offering 18 undergraduate majors with concentrations in more than 20 fields; including online business degree programs. Concordia provides a challenging, yet supportive learning environment where spirited intellectual inquiry strengthens the commitment to justice, compassion and moral integrity.

Student Appeal
Concordia's professors consider teaching to be their ministry, and their combination of academic sophistication and real-world experience offers an educational opportunity that is liberating and practical. The online programs enable students to gain knowledge on a schedule that fits them; the courses are structured to include interaction and dialogue wherever possible for students to enjoy a virtual classroom experience.

Financial
Of the school's student population, 97% receive financial aid, with over 95% of the freshman class receiving gift aid (grants and scholarships) averaging nearly $10,000 per student. Depending on a student's academic program, he or she may be eligible for a number of scholarships and grant opportunities. Student loans are available through the Federal Perkins Loan Program and Federal Family Educational Loan Program (FFELP).

Degree Completion Programs

  • Bachelor of Science in BusinessBachelor of Science in Business
    Designed to position graduates for better jobs, promotions, and professional fulfillment in business and other organizations, this program covers such essential topics as operations and project management, social economics, management of human resources, organizational policy and strategy, and corporate responsibilities. Each class is comprised of approximately 16 students, working together to complete the program as a unit.
  • Bachelor of Science in Business - AccountingBachelor of Science in Business - Accounting
    Along with a focus on the fundamentals for private industry, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and public accounting firms, this program also features an internship program that connects students to Portland-area CPAs and other accounting professionals for practical on-the-job experience. Graduates often pursue careers in consulting, accounting, attest engagements, taxation, financial planning, and litigation support.
  • Bachelor of Science in Business - Marketing Bachelor of Science in Business - Marketing
    This program presents the essential elements of marketing, including consumer behavior, market research, global marketing, and Internet marking. Students learn the theoretical as well as the creative aspects of marketing vital to the survival of any company, and gain the expertise needed for prospective employment in the marketing, promotions, and related departments of a business venture.
  • Bachelor of Science in Business - HealthcareBachelor of Science in Business - Healthcare
    The courses of this program address those management skills essential to the field of administration throughout the acute, community, and long-term systems of care. The curriculum features a research project or internship to provide extensive administrative experience, networking, and career development.
