I started at WIU in August 2010. I have been dedicated to my studies through each of my classes. The faculty from my enrollment counselor, finance counselor, and academic counselor, have been very helpful.
I am working on my Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies and to date have maintained an A in my classes. The instructors are great, the homework is within reason and not overwhelming.
I am excited to continue my endeavor and obtain my bachelors degree.
I took a chance and did a little homework before I jumped right in. I must say that I am so very please with the assistance that I have gotten thrus far. My team of professional have been with me every step of the way. I am even recommending that my daughter attend.
I enrolled at WIU last April. So far my experience has been good. I am working on my 4th class now. My major is Accounting. The teachers have been great and I feel like I'm learning a lot. I like the fact that the courses I need are broken out on their website along with the schedules and how full the classes are. This enables me to prepare my schedule and submit it to my academic counselor. Word of caution if you are using student loans keep track yourself of the cost of the classes and how much money you have spent. Don't rely on others or you could get burned.
enrollment counselor full of lies, finance department has no idea how to take care of veterans. I am now stuck in the school and they still cannot decide how many or which classes I need to finish. I have to call finance and academic department twice a week each to get anything done. Nobody ever calls back.
I took a six year break from higher education because I was just burnt out from going to community college, and life events did not allow me to continue in that traditional learning format.
I started back in February at WIU and I have to say I am pleased with the whole enrollment process going smoothly. The enrollment, finance, and academic councilors were all super attentive and helpful in making sure I had my classes that I needed and an education plan to meet my target graduation date. I was even able to transfer most of my general ed. classes from community college.
The on-line format is interactive with classes meeting once a week in the evenings. You can attend class live and interact with the instructor and students or view a recorded class session. The course work is like any regular university, a lot of reading and making sure assignments are turned in on time. There is a lot more writing required but this is good practice.
So far my experience has been good. I feel I can honestly achieve getting my bachelors degree this time around.
