Interview and application process

I am currently doing my interviews and application with University of the Rockies. It has been strenuous, but fruitful. I have felt no pressure and they have been thorough during this process.

My enrollment adviser has been tremendous support and encouragement. My undergraduate degree is from the early 1980's and as such is on micro-fish, so this has been a challenge, since I currently live In Baja Mexico.

My graduate school for my Master's has not conferred my degree as yet, it has been a month, nor allowed me access to my unofficial transcripts. More frustration, but my adviser has been with me every step of the way.

This is a private professional school and I think I would be concerned if they were not for profit. They pay taxes and are socially responsible.

I have been pleased and impressed at the whole process. As anyone knows this is a big decision to pursue a PhD and very nerve racking, with this school some of anguish has been removed. I am very happy I have decided to go with this school.

U of the rockies unprofessional professor

Now to be fair, "you get what you give" has its place. So much of my Rockies' experience is due to my own faults. But... I had the most unprofessional and biased professor of my entire life here. The classes were filled with technical glitches. It took over 2 weeks for my professor to address my concerns with bogus/outdated assignment instructions. I had to consult with Tech. support in order to find a means to turn in an audio file, after zero help from the instructor. The instructor then refused to accept the assignment, even though tech support had insisted that this was the means in which to turn it in. Same professor began to obviously grade harsher after some defiance and criticism.

No, I recognize the importance of good attitude and determination... But I would not recommend this instution to anyone.

I have always known I would finish my education. I looked long and hard before deciding on the school I would complete my degree with. When I found the University of the Rockies, I was thrilled. I was contacted by an advisor who I instantly bonded with.

Once enrolled, I was greeted by a group of individuals, all of whom have been as dedicated to my education as I am. Soon after enrollment, I found out my father had lung cancer. My educational advisor not only called me weekly to check in with my studies, she also called to see how my father was progressing. My advisor has been kind, empathetic, and compassionate.

I still have a while to go before completion with my doctoral degree but I look forward to reaching my. It is not every day that one has the ability to work towards such a difficult goal and enjoy the trip. Thank you Rockies! You have been a dream come true for me.

To this point I have no complaints and the admissions process was simple, and easy. I also did some extensive reading on their catalog requirements and am looking forward to the program as it seems like it is going to be a good learning experience. As I further progress I will keep updating this site to provide an acurate evaluation of this process, including the professors and courses. I am beginning my PhD program and know how much research we spend when selecting a school.

This school has been the best decision I could have ever made. A school of Profressional Psychology brings such a vast array of profressional students together which was terrific for networking!! The faculty are in the fields they teach, they could relate to the positions I strived for and provided additional insight into possibilities of careers I never knew of. Very profressional enrollment service. Very different than anything I encountered at larger schools. I had an amazing experience, challenging but very happy in my decision.

This Company Is a Scam

After having an inside view of what takes place at University of the Rockies, I would strongly recommend someone to think twice before enrolling with this school. They are a sales company that focuses ONLY on the numbers and how they can make a quick buck. There are records proving that University of the Rockies enrolls students who are uneducated, and incapable of completing the online program, however they are so deperate to get their company off the ground, they will enroll practically anyone!

Enrollment Managers were found forging student signatures on transcript request forms due to the pressure from upper managment to hit their set numbers. Another manager specifically stated to an employee, "You need to lower your standards when it comes to enrolling here." What else was said is too crude to even write. University of the Rockies does NOT uphold its core values of integrity and ethics and I would strongly encourage any student to take a closer look before applying.
