Freeloaders Welcome

I had no problems earning my A.A. through Phoenix. It's an entirely different story when earning your B.S. To earn your bachelors, you MUST work on a team. An overwhelming majority of the team members are freeloaders that contribute little, if any, effort to the team assignments. In the end, it is you that will be completing the majority of the "team" work. Don't let Phoenix fool you...they'll tell you to inform the instructor of your fellow team members lack of effort and they will be graded accordingly.

*This statement is false!*

THESE STUDENTS WILL NOT BE GRADED ACCORDINGLY!! I took 6 classes at Phoenix before finally giving up and withdrawing. I GAVE Phoenix the benefit of the doubt for a total of 30 weeks yet nothing changed. In the end, it became very clear that I was paying tuition and completing assignments for myself AND the freeloaders. Attend University of Phoenix only if you do not mind sharing your grades with fellow team members.

I graduated from UOP in 2001. Though I've been consistently working, only my work experience has helped. Companies are now telling me flat that they won't consider me with this degree EVEN WITH WORK EXPERIENCE.

I have EXCELLENT background as a PM with exceptional references. UOP is now considered a low life school in many companies. DO NOT GO HERE! I feel so sorry for you who have paid, like me, graduated, and want to say they had a great experience. Why wouldn't you? You just spent 2-4 years at this place.

The PBS Frontline May 2010 UOP bashing hurt us a lot. Look it up. From my perspective it hurts to write this knowing it will crush some people. Two words, class action.

Seriously, I do not need to write much. TOO EASY! I can't believe people think this is a great school...probably because its so easy to get a degree. Don't waste your money or time. Employers frown on University of Phoenix.

WONDERFUL SCHOOL

UOP is a wonderful school. I am very disturbed by some of the comments that I have read, as they are very untrue. I have to wonder if the individuals writing these reviews work for some of the competition. In my experience, UOP has been a life saver. They gave me the opprotunity to return to school. I currently have an ADN in Nursing and wanted to change my profession to psychology. Being the mother of four small children, this would have been impossible if it were'nt for UOP. The price is a little high, but you get what you pay for. Ole Miss and MSU are just as pricy and do not afford me the luxary of studying at home anytime of the day or night.Online Universities are the future. With the pressures of career and family pending in many people's lives, no one really has the time to sit in a classroom for eight hours a day anymore. I have certainly did my time in the classroom. My recommendation is for UOP. I would tell anyone that they are the way to go.

Good Program!

I also attended UOP for three classes toward my MBA. I found the classes to be extremely informative and the instructors to be knowledgeable in their prospective fields. I didn't run into the grammar/spelling issues that were mentioned previously, but maybe that's because these are higher-level classes. I didn't finish through them, but that's only because I decided if I was going to spend money and time on a higher-level degree, I want it in something I love, which they can't offer me. I wouldn't think twice about going back there to finish the MBA, though, if that's the degree I wanted. I'd re-enroll for that in a heartbeat! I really thought it was a great program.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology in May of 07. The course work was demanding in conjunction with the fastidious and capricious nature identified with military life, I found the program a bit challenging. I have to agree with one poster when he or she elaborated on the quality of students. These are so-called professionals who hold prominent positions but yet appear to function at a 10th or 11th grade level. I have come across a lot of students who could not spell and who used poor grammar. I spent many of time correcting errors on other students than my own individual projects. I am not perfect by any means. However, UoP should conduct placement tests for reading and writing comprehension. After all, when it comes down to it, you have to count on these people to make the grade.

What a great experience! I looked into many different online schools before deciding on UOP. I spent 3 months with Kaplan University before coming over, and what a difference! I love the way that the classes are organized, and the teachers are amazing. I can't say that it was EASY, but that isn't the point. College and a quality degree is not something that is supposed to be easy. I enjoyed the challenge, and I will be submitting my application to get involved with their doctoral program next spring.

I attended High-Tech Institute aka Banner College in 2006 for surgical tech. It was the most horrible experience I have ever encountered at a college. I would not advise anyone that wishes to seek a higher education to attend this institution. The reason being is that school is not organized with the lessons to be taught to the students. The lessons taught in class does not relate to the clinical labs. The instructors are not educated thoroughly in the surgical field, and the instructors bring their personal issues to the classrooms that interfere with the learning environment of the students, and in some cases their is not instructor to teach the class when the students arrive for class. I had to switch to another class in the school that I really did not like because I could not receive a refund on my money and I did not want to just give it to them, when actually I really did because I did not utilize the skill of the class I switched to. Don't waste your time with this school, please !!!!!!!!
