I writing this to form a complaint that I have against the school. Back when I completed the course for my DRP course, I logged into my account and the grade that I saw posted said B-.
I came up to the school and went to talk with one of the Student Services reps and told that person that I had completed my last course and that I had come up to the school to pay for my graduation fees. She then sat at her desk and had me wait for about 15 minutes while she went through my account and then she said, "Yep, you are all completed!" Then she told me that the fee was 150.00 and this is the amount that I paid. She checked to see if my mailing address was correct and then told me that it would be 10 weeks before I would receive my degree in the mail.
'More than 10 weeks later, I called to check on my degree because I had not received it. I asked the person that I spoke to at that time if there was a problem. I was put on hold for about 20 minutes. Then that person came back and said everything was fine and that I would have to wait another 10 weeks to get my diploma in the mail. Another 10 weeks had past and I called to change my address and ask about my degree being mailed because I had changed jobs. I was then told that my degree was not conferred.
I was told that I made a C in another course and that the DRP course was not what I failed. I asked for this imformation to be confirmed but I have not heard anything back on that. When I spoke to you, you advised that I would receive a $1,000 scholarship, but I don't see where the funds posted to my account. I sent an email through the website to find out about these documents that are pending on my account and I was told that all the documents were submitted.
When I spoke to Ayoola, she had me to fax over a signed copy of my FASFA. I asked her to confirm that she had them and she said she did. But then someone e-mailed me and said that they didn't have the paperwork. I emailed them back and said that Ayoola had it and she then claimed that she never had that conversation with me- until I sent the emailed that I saved to her. Then it was "oh, sorry. I have them."
So I got hammered about the forms, but my financial aid is still not processed to my account. And these documents are still sitting on my account: one says Federal Student Loan Discharge (NSLDS)- Needed, and one that says Disbursement Hold Student Loans- Incomplete. And they are telling me that nothing else is needed!
I am absolutely, completed tired and disgusted at this point. I keep getting the run around about something that should not have happened in the first place! Do you know I have applied for several jobs with Strayer, and I put on my application that I had a degree in Education? How embarassing is that? Can you imagine what the person reviewing the resumes thought about my application? Not only that, I'm not sure if I'm in the right course. It is so very difficult for me to complete this course because here it is a year later and I have started other things in my life where taking this course does not fit. But I know I have to complete this course to get my degree. Not to mention the fact that if my job finds out, then I will loose it. I don't have time for the runaround that I'm receiving. And I'm not going to continue to just sit here and let this institution jerk me around.
I need to be told what I have to do to get my funds posted to my account because I can not afford to pay out of pocket. I need to know if I am taking the right course and if there is any other course I need to be taking because I'm not going to get to the end again to be told that I still don't have my degree

As a flight crew member, I do not have the time to take a traditional course at a brick-and-mortar school. I checked out a variety of online universities and choose Strayer based on their desire to see you succeed and the ease of the financial aide aspect of my education.
I find online learning easy to fit to my lifestyle and my degree will all me to make certain life changes in the future towards a more fulfilling life.

I have attended Strayer for two years now and am finishing my last semester. I am a working professional and have attended other schools as well. I chose Strayer because of its accessibilty and flexibility. Strayer has grown dramatically in its delivery of quality instruction and has just acquired one of the top MBA schools (Kellogg) in the nation.
You will learn alongside students from around the world and the professors are very supportive. They are also highly competent and I have personally been taught by Professors who have come from many tier 1 institutions such as GW, Georgetown and Princeton. Strayer's student services are sub-par and their tuition is very high. But overall, it is a good school.
If you are looking for a traditional "College experience," this is not for you, most students work and go to school. There is no "campus culture." However, if you want a degree with the same accreditation as GW or Georgetown, give them a shot.

Expensive and yet not known. Usually you expect tp pay more for something that is unique. Not Strayer. You pay more for something that is barely a blip on the radar around here.
Courses are few and far between and they are more than willing to help you change your degree plan once they are not offering classes in your degree plan.
The admissions people were not up-front about the cost and suddenly added a "technology" fee and glossed right over that.
Instructors are good, for the most part, but they change staff like most people change underwear! Really, I saw 3 different directors, 2 deans, and almost a complete staff changeover in only 8 months going there. What is up with that?
Finally, I told my boss I was going to Strayer and he said, and I quote, "Never heard of them. You'd be better off getting a usable degree from a known school than one of those kind of school." If my boss thinks like that, I'm sure others do, too.

I have been enrolled at strayer for a little over a year now through the online campus. I have been very pleased with my experience. When I was originally getting enrolled they treated as a person not a possible sale. They took the time to actually talk with me and figure out if their school would even be a good fit for me as well as talked with me about what I want to do, not just what would seem like a good career choice.
Through the entire enrollment process they helped me step by step. I had never taken online courses and was nervous. Strayer did a great job at helping through the process of making sure I knew how to use all my resources, such as the free tutoring service.
The courses were challenging and the one time I had trouble with a professor my admissions officer helped me get in contact with the dean to resolve the issue. The only trip up I had was with my financial aid, in the beginning it was just fine, but then they changed the company who processes their financial aid. They were really good though at letting me know what was going on and always got back to me when I had inquired about any updates.
In all I have been very pleased with my experience. Of course there will be times where things don't go perfect, but that is with any school, which I have been to. As I stated the only hick up was with FA, but I am here to go to school and go through my courses not collect financial aid, and they always made it clear that even though there may be a delay from the government in getting funds that my courses were taken care of and would be as long as I maintained the requirements to do so.
Strayer hasn't been perfect, but I don't except perfection out of anything and they've done a great job at keeping me informed and as long as I've done my part they've done their part.
