I have mixed feelings about Strayer now. When I first started I was excited about furthering my education without having to try to balance going to a school campus and disrupting my work situation. But Strayer's tuition has doubled since I've been there. I have my Associate's degree from Strayer now but am already looking at other options to complete my Bachelors. I had no issues with Strayer other than the ever increasing tuition. They don't realize that these are loans I have to pay back so I'm looking for a school that is of quality caliber AND budget effective.
Lately the business office has been falling behind. My particular Student Account Representative has yet to reply to an email I sent her a month ago regarding the disbursement of my loan. I can understand that they are busy and have high call and walk in volume but a simple reply to let me know you are at least looking into it would work. Lately I have had to physically go to campus to get any questions answered. Since I am an online student this is very inconvenient for me. I will say that my education at Strayer has been nothing but the best. My professors, for the most part, are all extremely intelligent, patient and excellent instructors. I would continue to go to Strayer if it weren't for the tuition increase.

After working in the workforce for many years with an AA degree, I felt it was time to further my education. With a family and full time job a traditional school was not an option for me. I looked into non-traditional schools in my area and Strayer University had exactly what I needed. A campus is available in my town if I wanted to take a class but the online courses made school life more convenient. I plan to graduate late next year with a Bachelor's in International Business and then would like to get my Master's degree.

I got my AA from a local community college, but after the death of my husband I didn't want to take time away from my job to attend school, so I looked for a university that offered a complete online program. Strayer answered that need and offered the BBA I was looking for. I have been able to work at my own pace, and next year I will finally graduate.

Strayer University has allowed me to continue my education online around me and my family’s busy schedules. Having the ability to log in to my classes, participate in live chats, and submit assignments directly to my professors is perfect for me. Earning my degree is very important to me, and I’m so glad that I chose Strayer University’s online program to help me reach my educational goals. The professional and courteous faculty and staff are always available to answer questions with convenient office hours. The online classrooms are so simple to navigate. If you have any technical issues Strayer’s awesome technical support team is always a phone call away to assist you. I have enjoyed every aspect of attending Strayer University, the information that I’ve learned will allow me to be successful in the business industry and beyond. Strayer University is an excellent choice for an online education, anyone who is considering pursuing a degree online should consider Strayer.

I am in my second quarter at Strayer. I have been working in the IT/adult education field as a curriculum designer for the last 4 years. As a contractor I work on projects that are 6 months to a year. Most potential employers kept asking me if I could program in Java but I could not. So last winter I decided to add that skill to my resume. Strayer had an fantastic list of cutting edge IT classes that they used to hook me in. So far so good, but then I found out that every class...even programming class requires APA paper writing. I spend a week or two in every class writing english papers instead of programming. You get only 10 weeks per quarter and several are spent on learning a new writing style that changes every year. Did I mention I already have 2 years of english? Who teaches paper writing in programming class? I wonder what they teach in english and professional writing class? If you want to be a writer go to Strayer. If you want any other skill... think twice before you go.

I graduated from Strayer (magna cum laude) back in April 2009. As with any institution of higher learning, you have good teachers and bad teachers. I am proud to say that earning a degree at Strayer has helped advance my career. I am tired of people implying online degrees are not respected. I am a living example of how that is so untrue. Since graduation, I have received a promotion to Senior Accountant at my employer. There are people attending well known schools who don't attend class. At the end of the sememster they beg the teacher for an "A" and get it. I took online classes at a brick and mortar college I attended. These type of classes require discipline and HARD work. My only gripe is the lack of help at our home campus. It would be days/weeks before I would get a return phone call. I am now looking into Jones International University to study for my Master's in Forensic Accounting. If Strayer offered this specialized degree, I would have returned for sure.

I also attended this online university, as a transfer student. I was alarmed with the final cost to go to this school, (over priced compared to an on campus school). There is little respect given in the job market with this degree compared to the other co-workers who have graduated from an on-campus program. Think twice when it comes to some online schools and your education.

After doing a lot of research on online schools, I chose Strayer. I'm now within four classes of graduating and will do so in March 2009. I can say that the courses are challenging and the professors and staff helpful. They have made my education fun while understanding that I work full time and have four children. The online program worked best for me as I travel and my family takes up a lot of my time. By being able to "attend" classes during my lunch hour, it frees up a lot of extra time that I wouldn't have if I went to a traditional brick and mortar school. I'm very pleased that my degree will be from Strayer. I'm looking forward to wearing the school colors when I walk across the stage to get my degree. It's been a long road, but is worth it. If you are considering attending school online, I highly recommend Strayer. If you would prefer a traditional brick and mortar school, also look into Strayer as they have several campuses. The books aren't any more expensive as any other college or university.

My online learning experience was overall a very positive experience. They course work was challenging as any classroom but tailored to be delivered via the web. Using a virtual classroom, and interactive features such as online chats and and emails, I felt as though the faculty and my fellow students were easy to contact and there if I needed assistance.
I think Strayer taught me the skills to take my career to the next level. I recommend it to anyone that is looking to move their life forward.

My experience at Strayer University was for the most part a very good experience. The coursework was excellent and gave me the skills to excel in accounting. The classes ranged from basic Microsoft Office (learning Excel and Word) to advanced economics classes.
The online learning tools consited of a discussion forum for students that was very helpful, a forum to ask the instructor questions, and online test taking. The professor and classmate interactions was for the most part very good. Although I did have a couple of professors that would take a rather long time to answer questions on occasion; but I found that I could usually get help from other students in the student forums.
Overall I would suggest online school only to people that are self disciplined as it is easy to fall behind and very hard to catch up if you do. I think for me Strayer University was the way to go for my accounting degree.

After receiving my Bachelors degree, I spent a long time figuring out what I wanted to do before moving on to a Masters Degree program. Strayer University had extremely knowledgeable staff on campus as well as online. There was only one professor (online) that I found 'difficult' in that he didn't expand on the lectures or what was written in the book.
Other than that, Strayer was a positive experience, a lot of hard work, but worth it. I consider my Masters degree just as good as any other Masters degree obtained from larger well known universities.

The online learning experience overall was quite good. The coursework for the online classes was essentially the same as it would be for any class you would take in person. I felt the professors were very attentive to their students and were very accessible when questions needed answers.
