My son completed his High School on Penn Foster to obtain his Diploma. The contact person for Penn Foster stated it was fully accredited and the military will have no problem with the Diploma status. My son worked very hard and received a 3.3 GPA.
When contacting the military recruiter, he has to get the same ASVAP scores as a GED, not score for High School graduate. Why, because the military sees it as home schooling. I recommend you not look at this school or any on line school if you have plans to serve your country and join the military. I contacted two branches District recruiting and got the same answer and information.
ok amazing how many sit on the net all day and night got nothin goin for them but HATE,and obtuse.
Clearly i know penn foster is a real diploma and i have been living proof of it.
my story in brief right to the point i am happy being a penn graduate and i have my high school diploma on my wall as my office, and home office proudly.
as: i am goin to say this and i am on my friend facebook talking about the same opinion on the school, with the offer of the REAL high school diploma NOT some GED,no offense to the people with a GED,(Great job!)
but i love real high school diploma, and i know that Penn Foster, unlike HATERS and LOSERS who are down and out about "oh penn foster is fake"
or a diploma mill no they are NOT i was super happy when i did sign up for the VERY EXPENSIVE but fair payments etc. course for my high school diploma over at the penn foster website, very nice site,
easy to fully be able to simply navigage, the books are nicely written, easy to work at home office,as i am also studying hard online book and offline text books for the high school diploma.
it work for THE ones who
WANT IT TO WORK FOR THEM! i got my diploma only in around 10 weeks, yes i repeat for almost three months it too and i was then ACCEPTED! to 2 university one in new york, and another in connecticut.
i decide to go to one in ny,and take the online college course too, rather than traveling to the REAL campus with my REAL high school diploma! not everyone is going to pass,or get it right,
so i did because i BELIEVE in myself and was not as easy nor as hard as i assume, plus i got some help online tutor help me with some answers at penn foster that i did not know so do not let the HATERS get you down.
the high school diploma is a great course, and i am now on my 2nd year of my bachelor degree of science in the legal field, and off to take my LSAT which i shall pass as i work in law and i just needed the High School diploma,to show i graduate
a real high school course is penn foster i make it up to 11th grade and never went back to school until penn foster, in my mid 30s still young enough to get a law degree eventually is my true goal
and i am on my way,as accepted alrady to a law school BUT have to take LSAT 1st and i shall, and if not can still get my bachelor's in such field and own now my own business, i can't wait. thank you PENN for letting me get a real high school diploma,as another school ashford i think people use as i know my cuz went there and now is a vet in training amazing, she did not go to penn due to money but i have
and i am so happy. email is real if you want to reach me anytime for more.some people it take 9 months or longer, but i work day night on it and got it EXACTLY on the 10th week right before three months.im so happy!I am about to enroll to get my Highschool Diploma from Penn Foster. I have wanted to do it for some time now, as my fiance and his Mother both got their diplomas this way. It was called Education Direct or Thomson University back then but Penn Foster is just a new name/face for the same program. The people who feel like they are not learning, are probably the ones who take advantage of having answers at your fingertips. It is up to YOU and only you to decide if you are going to read the material and learn, and take exams honestly....or read the answers in the back of the book instead (and then complain about it like it is somehow their fault).
Anyways, it costs a bit of money but it is nice to have a legit diploma to put on applications - and if you take your time and read all the material, I gaurentee you will be learning! It is up to everyone to do their research ONLINE and see if the program is "for them". Don't get your info. from the people at the school as they are sales people and will say almost anything to get a sale, probably working on comission? That alone doesn't make it a bad school!
Point is - use your brain and do your research, read reviews, and then decide if it is right for you! If not, go get your GED at your local community college. I give the school my thumbs up because the people I know, who have completed it, loved it and are happy to have earned a real diploma...and worked for it. Don't listen to negative BS...it is not the school's fault if you miss payments or are taken to collections....that is your own irresponsibility and no one else's.
People, do not listen to all the negative things you hear about the school. It's obvious that some people did not find it easy enough to be able to comprehend the material. I started the program and trust me they amke you work.
It's fun to be able to learn at your own speed and not have a nagging teacher down your throat. When I was in high school my math teacher didn't even check your work, as long as you turned in a piece of paper you got graded for it. And trust me I didn't let in that class.
Some people(me) can learn better by themselves. Penn Foster is well accredited since 1959. Check it out for yourselves. www.ope.ed.gov
