I am very pleased with the education I recieved from Penn Foster. I had dropped out of high school and was worried that I would not be able to obtain a decent job, so I looked at my options. Getting a GED was okay, but my sister, who was working in human resources at the time, told me that when they get an application with a GED on it they toss it, so I decided to look at distance education. Penn Foster was the way to go. They did not accept transfers of credit from my old high school but I called my old school and asked them if they would accept transfers from PF and they said yes, so I did the last two credits that i needed with Penn Foster and sent the transcripts to my school and I got my diploma :)

The classes were super easy. I completed the entire civics course in 4 days, with the online material (I got the printed material a few days after I completed the course) and the English course required that I read about 7 books and take a test on them, I took my time with that one because I was in no hurry, but when they sent me a letter saying that the time I had to complete the course was almost up I got on the ball and finished it within a couple of weeks.

The communication was great, They don't hassle you at all, but they do let you know important things (i.e. running out of time) Overall, I would definately recommend Penn Foster to anyone and hope that they have as wonderful an experience as I had. I will definately be using Penn Foster again in the future.

Hey! I started with Penn Foster a few months ago. I really like it. Penn Foster provides great course outlines and study guides as well as text books. On the other hand, the instructors are horrible at communicating. I will call them seeking guidance, they say they will call me back right after they get off the phone with someone else and it never happens. The instructors do not follow through on their part. They do not get the job done. That is very critical with education- having great communication with instructors and teachers.

I am disappointed in Penn Foster. I am also disappointed in some of the people who make bad comments about other students' reviews. Saying things like, "Everyone who comes on here to complain has poor writing skills!"

People use this site to complain when they have bad experiences or when they believe that their concerns have gone unnoticed. When the school fails to do its job, student will feel like they have been screwed over. Some times we do not ALL have these bad experiences. Every person experiences different situations. When a person is very upset, it is way easier for them to make stupid mistakes in their writing and speaking. So, people who make rude comments about other reviews are just showing their own ignorance as well. This is so much fun for me, seriously.

I am so bored right now and honestly have nothing better to do at the moment. I do really like Penn Foster, but the school really has its problems! Then again, it's not a perfect school. There will always be problems everywhere you go.

I enrolled in the Automotive Technician program. I enrolled in this program knowing very little knowledge about engines and etc...now I can honestly say that I can probably build an engine starting from scratch.

The lessons were very detailed and made to store information in your mind. Nothing beats hands on training but I believe that this program was very useful. Covering the basic mechinicans and safety all the way to auto electronics. How this program works is they teach you two specific system in a vehicle(2 lessons) and then a 3rd final lesson over those 2 first ones.

Very useful way of fully understanding it. I recommend this program for someone interested in mechanical engineering and fully teaching you the basics to get an entry level auto job. The instructors were very polite and helpful as well. Worth the time, worth the money.

I am enrolled in Penn Foster's Graphic Design program and so far I love it. Before choosing Penn Foster, I looked into other schools and found that the rest of them would have cost at least twice as much and that even other online schools had very inflexible scheduling options with fixed semesters and deadlines. As someone who works full time and has family responsibilities, Penn Foster was the only school flexible and affordable enough to work for me. I have never had to wait longer than a few days to receive shipments of course materials or to receive grades for my design projects. This is no diploma mill or scam. Penn Foster is accredited and you do have to submit projects for grading and take proctored exams in the degree programs. They have an online student community where you can reach out to instructors and fellow students if you have questions about your courses, so you are not totally on your own.

I must say I don't understand all of the negative reviews I have read. As with ANY school, you have to carefully read and make sure you understand the school's policies, terms and conditions regarding tuition payment, refunds, withdrawals, program completion time, etc BEFORE enrolling. Judging by the way some of the reviewers write and spell, it's no wonder they did not succeed at Penn Foster. If you are a self-disciplined, motivated person willing to work hard and study, then you can succeed at Penn Foster.

I decided to join Penn Foster's high school diploma program after I found out that I didn't receive enough credits when I was in high school years prior.. Being a mother and wife and in my early 30's going back to high school was out of the question and settling for my GED was out of the question for me...

So I started doing research and came across information on Penn Forster, at first I thought it was a scam but after contacting the college I wanted to attend I found out that they accepted high school diplomas.from the school and set my sights on actually obtaining my diploma...

Student services has been so wonderful and understanding, I came across a financial problem and was unable to pay my tuition they deferred two of my payments... I am so thankful for this school and the fact that with each exam I am one step closer to reaching my personal goal...
