I am approximately 50% complete with my Ed.D in Educational Leadership (with a certification in school administration). So far the experience has been great, of course with any school you will have your great and no-so great instructors. I only had one mediocre but it was due to her ongoing medical issues. But overall the education is what you put into it, and I have enjoyed learning from LUO. For military, the financial aid was easy, the student services have been accommodating and the instructors work with servicemembers when our schedule gets messed up due to field exercises.

The intensive were a great experience and they put a lot of effort to ensure you are on the path of success when preparing for your dissertation. This is my first online program and I have found it just as challenging as traditional schools. If you do not have the self-discipline to get the assignments/work completed on time...then this program is not for you. I'll update this when I am complete with my Ed.D. Hope to see you at the finish line!

The college experience is what you make it. The college learning experience depends on what you are willing to put in. Liberty University has proven to be a quality University, providing quality instuction for this educator. I am currently pursuing an MAT in Special Education through Liberty University Online.

Prior to my enrollment in LUO, I was a graduate student at a top tier NC University. I must say that I have felt more challenged through the MAT program at LUO than I have anywhere. I began taking classes through LUO before accepting a job as a special education teacher. The classes I had through LUO prepared me for my NC teacher certification exams, and teaching.

Curriculum specialists, and administrators commented on my ability to teach my students effectively, and my awareness of the curriculum and content knowledge. I have just wrapped up my first year teaching, and many issues I faced were covered in detail at LUO.

I study hard. The work load is demanding. Every professor I have had has been there to respond to any comments, or needs in a timely manner. When working with fellow teacher who are in graduate school elsewhere they often comment, "Wow, you learned that in your program?" YOu have to put some intense work in to benefit from this program, as with any other graduate program. The coursework is quality work, and it has proven to be challenging each course.

I am proud to say that I am a student at Liberty University. Most importantly, I know that I will continue to learn what is needed to be the most effective educator I can be. Liberty University is the place where champions are made for Christ. The question is... HOW MUCH WILL YOU PUT IN? If you can answer your all, then I say get yourself enrolled today.

Pro: 1. Generous financial aid package. Con: 1. Heavy bias towards extreme right conservative Christianity. 2. Professors are lazy.

I think the graduate school of education is too large. There are over 1,000 students for a select few professors who are allowed to teach at the graduate level. Most professors ignore your comments. It is best not to disagree with them. They will tell you that dropping out is your only option. Their posts in the course will say encouraging Christian words.

I do think the tuition is high unless you are military and then it is cheap. In hindsight, I would have sacrificed my evenings or summers to pursue my doctoral degree at another school. Most of the time you are simply posting and responding to your peers with limited interaction with professors. My overall experience was okay, but definetly could be better.
