I attended a year on campus at Liberty and I spent three years enrolled in the External Degree Program. The flexibility of the scheduling was a big plus. If you are not a self starter, then this program is not for you. While there are deadlines to meet, you have to set aside time to study and watch the class instruction and stick to your plan.

I enjoyed the professors start to every class with prayer. What better way could you start the day! If I had a question, it was usually answered within a reasonable time allowance. Just can't get enough of Ergan Canner!

When I attended the online school, the library was a real issue. I was fortunate to have a local college that allowed me to check out their research material for a couple of weeks. Now, the library is conveniently online.

The fact that Liberty makes a bold, unapologetic and uncompromising claim to the Baptist faith was refreshing. I did not find the rules to be overbearing on campus. The Liberty Way is a reflection of what I already believe. Online schooling doesn't have a need for a dress code or a music standard. Your free to attend your virtual class in your pajamas with your MP3 player in one ear and donning a Mohawk and a tongue stud if you so desire! The critics on these reviews that complain about the rules with the online program are lying!!!

Academically, the classes were challenging and intense. If you did your own work in a timely fashion, the homework would be graded with encouraging comments and personalized instruction.

If you are looking to get a top notch, Christian education, then Liberty is the place to be.

If you are interested in a MSN-think twice about Liberty. You will be expected to handle all paperwork for your practicum-which you must complete a semester ahead. Also, no feedback from professors-you will wait for responses.

Cheating is rampant and Liberty does not care. You are a number to them. No academic advising. Courses include your thoughts on the Christian worldview. That is to say-their Christan worldview.

Non-baptists will be ill from trying to add scripture to subjects which are clinical and science focused, Beware. I wish I had known.

I was going thru the acceptance process and it was crazy 1st off they have volunteer students answering the phone you don't have a direct admission conselor, I had gave them all the unofficial transcripts that they requested keep in mind I paid for officials to be sent to the school in the meantime, anyway, I could not log into my account to see what else was needed and kept getting sent around from tech support to student services because the enter my bithdate wrong.

Then they told me I was accepted and that I would get an email in 2 days with my acceptance letter when I call to find out what was going on they said they needed my to get another transcript from a college that I went to and took one class remind you this college I had to take the class for work purposes and the passing grade was a p and you cannot transfer a letter P. The lady gets on the phone and talks to me in a very nasty matter, WTH. Is this not a Christ centered school. I was livid at this point I been going back and fourth since May getting everything that they needed here it is July and they still want more not to mention even without the unofficial transcripts they wanted me to sign my Finacial Aid. But they have not made a decision yet!!

I am so disturbed by people using Christ name and not event living by the word. No one had spoke about Christ on the phone or even acted Christ like. Yes they are cheaper but they make the students go thru so much when all they have to do is have us sign a form and they will be able to go to all the schools they need transcripts from and make the admission process so much easier. I just want to say if you have the money to pay for your transcripts and the time to go and contact all the schools you have attended good luck to you. I could not do any more they wore me out I could only imagine how the classes are you are probaly on your own a lot and that is not good.

I am currently attending Liberty University online. It definitely takes time management and discipline to complete the classes with good grades, but is well supported by the professors and advisors. I have so thoroughly enjoyed my time here and am so excited to attain my degree and travel to VA to walk! If you are ready for an on-line commitment, you can't go wrong with Liberty University! Best of luck!

No, no, no!

Debbie - June 19, 2011

I began attending Liberty Online in May 2009, in the M.Ed. program. I should start by saying that yes, this is a Christian university, and when I applied, I was assured that there would NOT be religion forced down my throat-- this is not true, at all. You will be required to complete assignments based on Biblical principles.

Anyway, when I first started there, the experience was a good one. The instructors were good (although it was quite easy to tell the ones who had just attained their advanced degree), the coursework was good, I felt like I learned a lot.

However, as the semesters passed, it got worse and worse. I think, honestly, the online school is just too large for the support staff they have employed there. Forget about getting a timely response from academic advising. If you call, be prepared to wait at least an hour, sometimes up to two. And when you are taking online classes, who has time to sit on the phone and wait for 2 hours? If you email advising, be prepared to wait at least 2 days to receive a response. Do not expect them to be helpful, AT ALL.

I know more than they do, honestly. Perfect example-- June 15th was the scheduling deadline for summer classes, the office closed at 11:45 on June 15th, so anyone who didn't call before then, missed the scheduling deadline. Now here's the kicker-- the deadline was extended to the 17th, but that was not on the message that played when you called on the 15th, so if you were traveling or did not have access to the internet for those 2 days, there was no way to know the deadline had been extended. Forget about requesting to get into classes a day after the deadline, they are as inflexible as can be.

I would not call this school "friendly" for online learners at all. Stay away from Liberty. Plus, I heard at an intensive course that employers do not put a lot of "faith" in a degree from Liberty-- there's something to think about.
