To whom it may concern,
I have a big problem with “Citi Bank” they have been a nightmare. I am on “Social Security Disability” I make $ 750.00 a month and I work part time for “Laconia Housing Authority in Laconia NH, twenty hours a week. I am the only one bringing in income a month and my husband is unemployed with no unemployment. I have Paid Citi Bank $ 150.00 until they were paid, and I went without eating to do it. They were calling me nine and ten times a day and I had asked them not to call me that many times please, but they did not respect that they did as they pleased.
I also have a big issue with “Kaplan University” and I am not having any luck with them cleaning up their mistakes that they did to me, back in 2008 and I was so close to graduating in 2009. Student accounts were totally a nightmare; they kept locking me out of my classes not once but twice until they received my High School Transcripts. By that time I was so far behind in my classes and was not able to get myself caught up, and the professors would not allow me to go back into my class to do make-up work. My academic advisor which was Shawn Strong he knew what was going on but did nothing about it. At the end they told me that I could take a break for College but had to come back and register under the Bachelors degree program.
A year later I decided to return and low and behold I got a big surprise I was not expecting, I was told by the office of returning students that I had been dismissed because of failing grades.
I am in another online college, and my credits from Kaplan will not transfer to this college so therefore I have to retake all classes again and it does anger me. I am also bored with them. Only with this college The Art Institute of Pittsburg division online I have scholarships and grants. Not only that this to has become a problem, but I was told as well as by letter for the Department of Education and Citi Bank I was now on deferment. Now I get this threatening letter that I am in default again. I have been asking for help on this whole situation and I am not receiving any help. I feel if so I am being taken for a big ride and suppose to deal with and suffer for what is going on when it is not all my fault.
Why should I have to pay $7,000 dollars to Citi Bank and Department of Education when Kaplan University had dismissed me wrongfully? It is not fair to me!
In the state of NH, they do not have Pro-Bono and I have a very low income so how am I going to receive any help on my part? I hope you can look into this matter; I should not be punished by going all over the credit bureau as you are telling me.
All I want is to get my “Darn Associates degree and I am finding it very depressing that I cannot get it. I was on the “Dean’s List since I have been with Kaplan and both colleges have my education so messed up and I feel it is out of my control. If I can get help to clear this matter up I am going to take the suggestion from professionals that have been working with me, and go to a regular college to finish. On-line colleges are a college for profit, and I see the Federal Government will not help me, I have to suffer and take all consequences and there is not one thing that I can do.
I believe these online colleges can do whatever they choose to do and students have to pay the high price. Is that fair? If Department of Education was in my shoes what how would they feel?
