I am a 20-year-old mother of one 9 month old baby girl. I have decided to go to school online after wanting to rise my daughter while in her early years, full time at home. The academic curriculum was able to link me with a degree program based on my hobbies. The classes are never "off topic" because the lesson plans strictly deals with my major in Network Administration. My personal adviser calls to check on me each term to see how I am handling my classes. Choosing classes is a worry-free tasks because my adviser helps me choose my courses and the best times I will be available to attend LIVE seminars. The wait time is excellent when calling in with questions since the automated menus have changed in order to accommodate needs concisely. Overall, I was a bit nervous in the beginning but adjusted my level of procrastination in order to succeed. Online schools are not for everyone especially when a person cannot teach themselves without someone over their shoulder constantly reminding them to stay focused. This is coming from a student who has succeeded two semesters already as an "A" student since starting Kaplan University!!
Frustrated and searching for a new school!

I've had it with Kaplan! I can't seem to get a hold of my Academic Advisor anymore, and I've never had a single conversation with my Financial Aid Officer. He refuses to respond to emails, or messages left on his voicemail. As time goes on, I spend more and more time getting looped through their automated hell because It is on a continuous loop.
Their Student services is a joke because they stop servicing students after some times passes. They continuously call and harass you until you enroll, then they are no where to be found when you have any issues.
Finally, I am not satisfied with the education I am getting. The curriculum is not conducive to retaining any of the information that you work with, so if you would like to learn more and actually remember it, then their curriculum is not for you.
It is hit an miss with the instructors. Some know what they are doing, and others do not.
I've been on hold trying to get in contact with anyone in the Financial Aid department for over 20 minutes now, and I am fairly convinced that I am going to be changing schools when this quarter is over.
I've been at this school for over a year, with an Advanced start attempt at getting my BA in Web multimedia and animation, and I don't feel like I've learned enough to go out in the real world with the courses I've taken.
This experience has been a disappointment.
