Being in the army means I need to travel a lot, which also means I have had my fair share of a variety of schools. Needless to say, the reason I chose JIU was for the convenience and online privileges. My experience with this school has been a roller-coaster. Student services are a fail at best.

I have been transferred several times to different SSC (student support counselor) and financial aid counselors all of which are very pleasant and nice but don't know what they are doing. The smart-thinking tool designed as a tutoring assistant is alright but I am paying an arm load of money to attend this school and expected teacher/professor feedback. The feedback that I did receive was more often than not associated with APA format and not punctuation/grammar errors or even the content of my research.

Sadly, based on previous reviews, I can relate to the 4.0 gpa. I currently, hold the same status and believe that I work hard but this must be a reoccurring status. I think the quality of curriculum is sub-standard and can be vastly improved. Writing research paper after paper is tedious and not teaching me much except how to research.

I agree with a previous mention that the set-up is easy to follow, I just wish there had been more substance with this school. Unfortunately, I wasted four years at this school and good money with little hope that this education will better my future aside from how good it looks on paper. This school in my opinion is a FOR PROFIT only institution.

I have been enrolled in JIU since April 2010 in their Accelerated Bachelors to Masters Degree program. I did experience a problem initially with student aide & consquently JIU's mistake costs me an out of pocket bill of $1,000, however, after that hiccup my transition through the enrollment courses has been very smooth, as well as, yearly financial aide submissions.

My first year I had an excellent academic counselor but the 2nd year they attempted to transfer me to someone that was totally incompentant. I immediately voiced my discontent & they transferred me back to the man I had originally & he was great. He was so good that they promoted him to be in charge of all academic counselors & he made sure that the next person I was assigned to is just wonderful and I still have her at this point.

Some of my professors have been very tough but I found that as an incentive to make me work harder!I enjoy the course material & one class just flows into the next in steps. Interaction with students overall has been good & the Fourm discussions are interesting. There have only been a few of my professors that have not actively participated in giving feedback in the classroom. One professor we all complained about and JIU took immediate action to get that professor back on track with us & ensured they performed their duties as a facilitator.

Some people here have complained that they have been unable to find a job since graduating but it is not the fault of the school. They're job is to prepare us for the careers we have chosen but they can't force a company or organization to hire you since that is strictly on us...maybe some people don't interview well. We are also in the middle of the worst economy we have had in years, but getting an education so when jobs do open up is the way to proceed.

I really enjoyed studying at JIU and I have to say that I recommend it if you are prepared to work hard and you have the passion and the willing to achieve more in your career and professional endeavors.

I started school at a community college but stopped and went back several times with out ever graduating then a few years later after having my baby girl I decided it was time to go back to school once and for all! I was very nervouse and had a lot of fears but after looking at schools I decided that JIU was the school for me! I am so glad I made that decision because now I am in a great career and don't live paycheck to paycheck!

I can now buy my daughter anything she wants and know I can provide for her and her future! This is all thanks to everything I learned at JIU! Jiu was different they really did care about me infact they went the extra mile and my admissions counselor Miss Herring was GREAT! She even came in on Saturdays to help me out- which school would ever do that? NONE except or JIU! If you want a quality education that will prepare you for your future then don't look anymore please call JIU today- they helped me and if I can do it I know you can too! Best of luck!

I started school online before but never got to graduation until I attended JIU. I loved every thing about it! My advisor, Brooke was great and so was the rest of the support I received.

I think people who attend a school and say they can't do anything with that degree is just sad. I have a wonderful career now and its all thanks to what I learned at JIU. I also have a pretty awesome portfolio which I hugely accredit for being where I am now! This school gave me everything they promised and some.
