I've already posted one reply to this ongoing bashing by the "i want everything handed to me" people and regards to the LAST post about the guy wanting the money to go to him instead of ITT Tech...you're a fool. A government educational loan isnt designed to give student money to do with whatever he/she wants, its for your freakin education!! Why would you NOT want the money to go to your school??
Because you are like the rest of these ill prepared fools that thinks they can get an student loan then dont go to school. Why? Because the government had made it easy for people to secure loans with no qualifying obstacles like credit score or employment. So you think you can automatically get a loan this way with no interest in going to school. People never cease to amaze me!!! Then complain that its ITT Technical Institutes fault because they apply ALL the money toward your tuition...wake the hell up!! And you wonder why our country is in the state its in..because of the want something for nothing live off the government too lazy to work people who honestly think they deserve it!!
Back to ITT Techs accreditation not being recognized and worthless. ITT has Alumni in the hundred of thousands and have been offering degrees since 1969!! Do you honestly think ITT would still be in the higher education business if their degrees held no weight with employers??? You cannot honestly be that stupid!! And if any of you complaining did any research you will see that ITT requires 96 college credit hours just for an associate degree...at least 30 MORE than other colleges! Any idea what the additional credits consist of?? MORE CORE COURSES in your field of study!! Ill let you figure out how that benefits ITT students and gives them an advantage over other colleges.
Also, Ive read where people have issues with outdated equipment and curricula..that is 100% false and completely the opposite of what ITT Tech is about!! At least at the campus I attend, all the computers/equipment is either brand new or kept in top working order, all courses come with the most recent software for the students to bring home so they can do the homework. The ONLY thing Ive read so far that I can agree with is some of the instructors. Yes, Ive seen the easy instructors that just work at ITT Tech to get a paycheck but they rarely last more that one quarter, yes Ive seen the unmotivated student only come to class to avoid being dropped and still pass but why should that concern you?? I dont give a frogs fat butt how other students get by, I am only concerned about what I get out of it, my grades. Being jealous because you studied hard and others didnt but got the same grade as you is completely childish! Your concerns are misplaced, you should be worried about what YOU get out of the programs.
In closing, for all those out there looking into colleges weather the are state colleges, community colleges or technical schools...be sure to read the reviews on ALL schools..you will find the same kind of hateful, truth bending complaints no matter where you go..why? Because the lazy give me something for nothing people are the same no matter where you go.

Hey peoples that have posted and are reading. Thanks to you guys who have posted here and My recent experience with trying to get into ITT Tech. These people are nothing but MONEY LAUNDERERS...you get your loan but you don't get nothing back. I say that to say this when you apply for a college loan and the schoo gets their money for the semester you always get money back but not with this school they make you sign a slip saying that they will keep the money and put it towards paying off your loans. People I want to thank you for the info posted here it really help me not get caught in a trap / scandal. ITT is just as bad as all the other technical schools No Credit Worthiness in the Real World.

I have attended ITT in KNoxville, TN for 3 years now. I am merely a few months from my graduation date. I agree to some of the blogs on here about money, credits, teachers, "flaky" students, etc. However, what you do not understand is you truely get out what you put in. I have watched a majority of my classmates drop or fail, I have even witnesses the no show, drag down student pass. I firmly believe in the instructors I have had, although they all were not so great, but I chose the school, so ultimately it was my decision. I think that some people have a right to be upset, but it goes to show that if you are not patient enough to research your chosen educational institution, then are you truely patient enough to learn at one. Though credits do not transfer before the completion of your degree, once you have fully recieved that degree, the degree itself does. For example, I have been accepted to an upstanding University to futher my education in Law, and yes they accepted my degree from ITT. Honestly, amidst the issues everyone has, there are faulsities that make you all rant and rave without in fact researching the honest truth.

I cannot believe what I am reading!! First of all let me make sure anyone reading these reviews understands that you are reading the rants of a college drop out!! It does not matter what college you attend, you get back what you put into it...plain and simple. With that said let me make a few corrections......
First, ITT Tech's financial aid department does not "bill" you when you finish your program, the government does. Second, the financial aid department cannot tell anyone what their "monthly payment" will be, its a huge policy and compliance violation plus they have no idea what the final amount is going to be...so those of you complaining that your monthly note is not what ITT said it would be are LIARS!! So anything else in your rants I do not believe!!
In regards to other "opinions" that ITT Techs degrees hold absolutely no weight...WRONG!! I personally know of several high profile Government agencies and international businesses that have hired grads from ITT Tech, companies like the CIA (criminal justice), AT&T, Cox Communications, Entergy, Halliburton, LSU Health Sciences Center and the list goes on and on. If a degree with a "national accreditation" is worthless why would the above mentioned agencies and businesses hire grads from ITT Tech?? Anyone??
Lets talk about instructors'... yes, Ive seen instructors come and go, some good some bad but that's normal..any business has its share of turn-around with employee's, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot!! It's obvious I am a student, I have been for one year now so you can say I am protecting myself or some of you may say I am lying to myself to justify my enrollment here...NOT. I did a ton of research before I decided on ITT Tech, yes the tuition is high I will not argue that point but as others have already stated ITT Tech's schedule is conducive to a working mans lifestyle and allows me to keep my full time job, something that could not be compromised. With that said I have Personal, first hand experience with the courses and the teachers. I've seen students come to class and do nothing then complain that this school is a joke..whatever!! I've applied myself to my homework as well as outside learning like getting my certifications A+, Net + and working on CSSP...WHY?? Because I am smart enough to know that in todays workplace having just a degree will not cut it and anyone who thinks otherwise sets themselves up for failure. I dont care if you get a degree from a regionally accredited university...if you haven't achieved anything else but that degree you're only hurting yourself and your chances of securing a job in that field.
So, to all you drop outs, grads that didn't do anything but show up to class and do the minimum necessary to get your degree, you got exactly what you deserve.
FYI, I have already been extended a job offer once I have my degree from a major company that works world wide! Why? Because I've applied myself to do the things necessary...not skated by thinking the world owes ME. I am enrolled in the BS Information Systems Security program..btw.
For those interested in what ITT has to offer..do some research and don't dwell on the negatives from people who think just because they paid for a degree, they deserve a job.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

Helo every one!! If you are a person who is looking to get a degree and spend ur time working for Mcdonalds then yes this school is for you (^_^) I wanted to agree with everyone, this School SUCKS so bad, everything out of date, we are working with equipment that doesnt work, the IT technician in campus knows nothing about computers so we are always with problems, I am a Straight A student in ITT and I have to finish my Associates there because they have my money, what else can I do? and I get As without studying because people there "help" students to become more stupid rather than help them create and develop good attitude and organization, exams are open book, you can bring you homework in a piece of toilet paper, they will still accept it and give you an "A". So if you dont like to study, dont like to respect teachers and still get an amazing grade, this is your school. But if you are like everyone in this Review, Honest, Respectful, Looking for a career that will help you get to where you want to be, then FORGET about this place.. Trust me, 45k dollars to learn what I could've learn by buying a total of 25 books (350 dollars) is not worth it. If you are desparate to spend that much money for nothing, please send it to me I NEED IT.

Background: Attended University of Louisville, Air Force, Devry University, and currently ITT Tech.
The school says they are the leaders of their field but this is not in the least bit true. Most of the classes I have taken have been out dated and a waste of time. Example. My windows class is teaching XP SP2.....Why in the hell would you teach something that will be obsolete by the time I finish my degree. They have 2 other operating systems that are out and I have not heard a word of the course material changing for my degree.....BLAH BLAH BLAH
Finance info: For those looking to attend make sure to get everything in writing and a copy. There finance department has been helpful in describing this horrible system they have of charging their students. Be sure to take note that even if you decide to drop to part time they will still charge you full time. You are forced to take out loans to pay for this so that the school does not have to chase students down during the terms. They will reimburse you the difference after the 9 months of classes are over. During this time you took out more money then you needed, which you do not get and sits in the loan office aquiring interest over those several months. You actually lose money and get nothing for it. They know this happens but do not care.
If you are already in the workforce and just need the degree to show you have it then this is the school for you. Don't expect to use this school as a way in enter the work force.
Obviously the S and H fell off the sign...

Wow I have been reading though off these comments and I love it!! Everyone seems to hate this school as much as I do!!
I was concerned right from the start when my math class what addition... Even for people who have been out of school for a while should be able to handle addition...
I wish the school would have spent more of our money on trying to teach us something or fixing computers and buying Nintendo Wii's to give away and events!!
The representative for my area of learning changed about every once a month, and ITT wanted you to have a 'relationship' with this person, but I never even knew who mine was. And when I finally did graduate my current 'rep' tried to get me to stay for another 4 years!! H3ll no!!
When I started ITT I work at Arby's, after ITT ... I still work at Arby's.
They sent me a survey a year after graduation to see where I was, one of the questions was are you in your desired field and if not why. I told them the truth, I am too embarrassed to tell an employer that I went to ITT v.v

I'll be graduating in December with a useless degree in Visual Communications from ITT. To be fair, I've learned a lot in the two years that I've been there. Unfortunately, 95% of that is from what I've learned outside of school. The coursework is child's play. I've barely had any homework. For my Composition 1 class, the final project was writing a 5 paragraph paper. The facilities are awful. The network moves along at dial-up speeds, which may be fine for some programs, but for multimedia intensive work like VC it's inexcusably slow. I'd estimate that a third of the computers don't work at any given time. I once had a class that focused primarily on using Adobe InDesign, and it took the school 5 weeks out of an 11 week quarter to get it installed on the machines. The textbooks have been hit or miss. Many classes have come with "Bible" series books that are very definitive resources. Other classes have used "For Dummies" and "Teach yourself Visually" books, which I feel are completely inappropriate for "college level" courses. The teachers have been the best and worst things about ITT. I've had teachers who have worked in the industry for decades, and I've had teachers who are ITT grads themselves with literally no relevant work experience. Many of my classmates are among the dumbest people I've ever had the displeasure of sharing a room with. I don't say that to be mean, but to emphasize the fact that their admissions process is a joke. Unfortunately, the school likes to do a lot of group work, so I find myself having to work especially hard to carry the weight of my group members in order to turn out a professional result. As graduation quickly approaches, I realized that my degree is going to be pretty meaningless to an employer. I've been looking into transferring into a real school, but what I've been finding out is that none of my credits will transfer. Essentially, I've paid a boatload of money for a piece of paper. Save yourself the money and the grief and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I am just about to graduate with a BS from the Online program. What people say about credits not transferring is true. The other big con is that people just don't give ITT Tech grads and students the same respect as other grads. This is not to say that it is always the case. Really the problem is based on old (mostly untrue) stigmas about private career schools and especially online degrees. It is also true that the Representatives (Sales Representatives selling you education) will say almost anything to sign you up. I strongly disagree with these practices, but I never actually went through a representative (a fact that I could tell annoyed the reps because nobody was making a commission off of me). Now I want to make some underrepresented points. First of all, most of the students who complain about the school are dropouts. I personally saw my class sizes shrink to half, not because people disliked the classes or had a problem with the administration but because they couldn't handle the workload. Which brings me to my next point, ITT tech frequently accepts students that should never have wasted there time going to college anyway. This is the real reason why so many droppout, not because they are actually opposed to anything that the school does. Unfortunately, this creates an overrepresented group of extremely disgruntled ex-students. This group absolutely destroys any chance of the school improving its reputation. So this should actually be an indication that the curriculum is at least moderately challenging and deserved of at least some respect. As at least one other person on here has pointed out, the school requires 180 credit hours for a bachelors degree. This fact seems to elude the many of the people who claim that ITT Tech is a degree mill. The workload is actually quite grueling if you want to get a B.A. (especially for those of us who work full time while doing this). I have done a ton of research in the last couple of years as I have frequently wanted to transfer or just drop out altogether because it is highly stressful to read the horrible reviews that ITT Tech gets. The conclusion that I have come to is that most of what people say negatively about the school is either horribly exagerrated or totally untrue. One example is that I often read peoples reviews saying that the credits don't transfer because they are not accredited. This is absolutely not true. ITT Tech is accredited and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, It is accredited and peer reviewed through ACICS an accreditation group that is approved by CHIA (Council for higher Education Accredidation) the same Council that awards accredidation to the various regional accrediting groups. The only difference between ACICS and the Regional colleges in terms of standards is that ACICS requires peer reviewing every 5 years and Regional only every 10 years. Unfortunately accredidation is so misunderstood and misrepresented that ITT Tech and other ACICS schools often get grouped in with other actually unnaccredited schools. I could write about this subject for hours but after factoring the high cost of going to school here as opposed to less controversial State Universities I would not recommend going to school at ITT Tech, despite the fact that I think I got a pretty good education there. Good luck
WOW! What a total Loss!

I am in the military and figured I would continue my education at ITT. Well after 2 years and a degree later I wanted to continue at another school, ITT's prices keep going UP, so tried tons of places; STRAYER,Phoenix,MSU, and more! But none of my credits would transfer over to anyone of those colleges plus more! Now thanks to ITT I have to pretty much start over because one of the administration officials quoted" well sorry to inform you but pretty much ITT is a joke school! we don't accept their courses and you must re-take them in order to persue a degree at our university!
Thanks ITT, you wasted over 40,000 dollars of my military GI Bill and now to gain any more education I will have to pay for it out of pocket!

My husband went to school at ITT for 2 months, before he even started we asked the financial aid department to go over his loans with us and explain everything including what our monthly payments would be on his student loans, she told us his monthly payments would be 150.00, something we could handle if he didnt get a job right away, well his 6 months was up and we got a letter from the loan agency saying it was time to start paying and our payments were 450/month NOT 150!!! Talk about financial devastation, not only that but they said that had a career placement program which is a load of crap, you send them your resume and they send you a list of companies that "may or may not be hiring at this time" SERIOUSLY? a 38 thousand dollar loan debt and this is what we get?!? Oh and did I mention that no companies out there want to hire a new graduate for more than maybe 13 dollars an hour? This school was a waste of time and money!

I have been a student of ITT Technical Institute for 3 years now and will graduate in another year with a Bachelors in Information Security Systems. I have to say that when I started this program I thought it was the biggest mistake of a lifetime but soon realized that it was the staff that was bad not the curiculum. I have seen the firing of deans and other faculty and must say that this institution is hell bent on having the right people in place to teach the students and if the faculty or professor is not then they are gone and I have attended two other intstutions and I have never seen that done whether the professor was good or not. I have seen much worse that ITT and do believe that if it wasnt for them I wouldnt have the great job I have right now and im not even done yet so do the critics say to that. I feel that you will experience faults at any college institution and its all in how you handle it and how you present yourself to get ahead and another person can not dictate your future. In most big universities its who you know and how much they like you and with ITT they are trying to help you find employment for neither of the above reasons but it makes them look good when you become employed coming right out of school and thats a WIN -WIN situation if you ask me. I dont think all of the curiculums are for the markets you are in like for example the Criminal Justice Program, why in the hell would you go to a technical school for a non technical trade?????? These are the people complaining about the school when they are the ones that decided to go to a technical school for something that was not technical at all and thats stupid if you ask me. The computer , electronics and CAD programs are the best programs to take at ITT Tech and everything else is garbage. I have had worse experiences at larger institutions which I have attended and I have come to find that its all what you make of it

its funny how all the good reviews are at the bottom all in a row almost like the same person put them there itt is an overpriced piece of garbage just compare there prices with other schools and that should answer whether you want to go there or not unless your really dumb then you can have teachers do work for you if you attend the tottering your instructor will do your test for you i seen it many times i seen a guy who still didn't understand why there are letters in algebra miraculously pass a college mathematics class with a b+ all these people talking about how great the instructors are would love them when they do your work for you

I have been attending ITT Tech for 1 year. I actually just finished a final tonight. I heard a fellow student a couple of days ago really ragging hard on the school and all the reviews she read. She was about to graduate and was complaining about how much a month she had to pay on her loans. I looked at he reviews and I am pretty overwhelmed. I'm not sure what to think.
My experience has been good so far. My teachers are all extremely knowledgeable. They have mostly been engineers and architects, aside from general education courses.
I feel like I have learned a lot at this school. The CDD program is great.
A few things that have pissed me off are the fact that many students in the class are total flakes. They show up late, don't do the homework until the last week of school and still get full efn credit for it. I even saw a student take a test home with him and bring it back next week, only to still get credit for. I was blown the ef away!
All I can say is that if you are truly serious about learning a particular field and are willing to focus and gain the knowledge needed to be a top notch employee, ITT is for you.
Other then that, they are straight ripping fools off, the fools that think they can slide by through life with little or no responsibility and the fools still think they are are on top, the foolish students that is. O well.
ITT's Regional Accreditation review is up this year. If it goes through and my credits can transfer, I'm out once I have my associates! If the accreditation fails, I'm out even asap!
I think I will make one more post to update the Accreditation status.
I learned NOTHING!

The minimum requirements for the teachers are a bachelors degree.
The teachers can not answer questions about the subject they are teaching.
The dean is only concerned with letter grades - not with whether or not you actually learn something.
The "school" should think about investing more money on teachers and less on food. (because they served pizza every other class)
This "school" cost over triple a university. Go somewhere else where your degree will actually mean something.

Like every other comment on this site. I too AM attending ITT. When i first started, they made me beleive that i would be paying $50-$100 monthly on my student loan after graduation. THAT WAS COMPLETE BS. Now a week from graduation, and nothing learned, i was told that the amount that was given to me would be PER LOAN. Meaning every 3quarters, when they pull you into their little stupid office (prettending to care for your needs) they are actually pushing you into applying for completely new loans. Now i come to find out that my actaul loan monthly pmts are over $350 WTF???? I am sooooo upset, and regret not listening to MY OWN professors when they warned me about how lame and unprofessional this school was. YES i am graduating but am in no way prepared for a job in my field. AND NO THEY DO NOT HELP YOU FIND JOBS like they promise when signing you up. ILL BE DONE THIS WEEK, AND I HAVENT EVEN MET THE SO CALLED "RECRUITING REPRESENTATIVE". And like my tittle says, I AM IN DEBT $40,000. And for what? For time and gas wasted. (Oh and dont beleive when they take you into their orientations and prettend to use all these cool plotters/printers and computers) most of them dont work half of the time and they are way to lazy to even fix them. I cannot finish expressing how much i regret going to this school, and they still have the nerve to try to convince you to finish off with their Bachelors Program!! Now i would %100 rate this school as the #1rip off/crappy/unprofessional/lying/sack of S*** EVER!!!

I started ITT in Sept.2008 and I’m still a current student feeling miserable and discouraged. I have been disappointed every single quarter. ITT stalks you when they want you to enroll, but when you need their assistance, they don't return your calls or emails.
The Math instructors have been awesome. They seem very helpful and they're always willing to tutor.
As for my other classes, in two of them, we didn't even turn the pages in our books that they make us buy. That was wasted money right there. The instructors never even referred to them. I can recall instructors skipping over chapters, because the information was so outdated.
At times they over schedule the classes; they’re too full, no enough equipment, a bunch of slides, and BullS!#% quizzes.
They never have enough equipment. How am I supposed to learn hands on if you don't have all the equipment or nothings working properly? Isn’t this a technical school? Where are all the techs to fix these problems?
I feel like I've wasted my money and jeopardized my credit. I'm a full time employee, mother of 3 and attend ITT full time. I hate applying myself to get ahead and not getting the help I need.
They're messing with people’s funds. They want to throw pizza parties during re-enrollment and pop popcorn, instead of given us the resources we need. For all the money we're spending, why don't we have better instructors, updated equipment and books?
I really dislike ITT! They’re really disappointing. People are graduating and not finding jobs. That’s sad. We have to pay back so much money. Most of us don’t make enough to even try to enroll and are taking the chance in search of a better career and turning out to be disappointed.
I’m dropping ITT and heading to a community college. You live and you learn, but why does it have to be so expensive??

some of the instructors were great but I was constantly harassed by two other students, one especially. I asked for help in this matter several times and even contacted the headquarters office about this, every time i recieved the same answer, "we'll look into it" but nothing was ever done until i had had enough and told one of them off, I was expelled fron the school for not wanting to be subject to harassment, lies about me, the disruption they created in class. most of the instructers won't do anything about students like this because, in the words of the instructors, "I don't want a confrontation with thestudents" Do not attend ITT. I too was also told by more than one instructor the school was not very good and that other schools have much more to offer in the training area, they don't care about students, they just want your money!!!!!

I am currently enrolled in the CEET program, and so far i have somewhat mixed reviews. I agree with what others have posted as far as being forced into taking more or less useless classes, as well as having some completely incompetent teachers. My first semester at this school, i had Problem Solving. . Now, I tend to be very good at math, as well as a quick learner, so I didnt have as much of an issue in this class as everyone else that shared this class with me. My teacher did not know the subject well enough to even understand the course material, much less teach it to the rest of the class. I found myself more or less stepping in to teach my classmates how to solve problems rather than them asking our instructor. I also must comment on the lack of response to the students surveys. Every student in my class complained to the dean about the teacher, and all of us wrote responses about the teachers on our surveys which convey quite cleary her incompetence. Somehow though, the school saw fit to use her as a sub in our DC Electronics class the following semester (she admitted freely she hasn't the slightest clue about anything pertaining to electronics). We ended up sitting around in class until the chair for our program had the time to visit our class and explain what it was we needed to be doing. I find this unacceptable for the amount of money we have invested into our education.
I do have to say as well, though, that not all classes have been a negative experience thus far. My first semester personal computers class was taught by a fantastic teacher. Though i did notice that one individual was absent almost the entire time (once every 3 weeks to avoid being dropped) and never did the labs, yet "somehow" managed to still pass the class.
Basically, i could go on a much longer rant about the experiences i have had with ITT, but im sure you all are tired of reading this (assuming anyone has read this far? lol)

Well, Lets see. I am in my second quarter at ITT Tech. The first quarter was a breeze! I had a class that taught me how to be taught....if that makes any sense. I came to ITT because i saw a commercial for construction managment on TV. It was suggested that since the campus that was closest to me did not offer the program, that i take CADD then i would be able to take the remainding classes online for 1 year to finish my construction managment degree. That was a sham. I found out on my own that my first quarter classes didnt help me work towards my construction managment degree at all. I was had!!! Hook, Line and Sinker! I am extremly angry.
At this very moment i am refraining from runing into the Deans office and dragging him outside. I feel like my enrollment representitve was just a sales person. Two quarters cost me something like 9 grand. Not to mention that the technology at the school sucks. The computers are slow, i thought that this was a tech school!!!??? Whatever you do, go to school at a conventional University!!! Do not go to ITT Tech.

I wasted half my GI Bill on this school.
Due to my having to transfer stations I was not able to complete my degree. But having heard others stories about this school I am happy I didn't waste more money.
Yes the commercials are convincing. Yes the people working there are convincing. Yes, you need to keep your head in check when you go there.
I am so beyond pissed that I fell for ITT Tech. The teachers, for the most part, were awesome though and always willing to help out.

This was a complete waste of money. One of my 'teachers' had us play jepordy for every single class period. The class was an introduction to personal computers and we never once used the computers.
The teachers are inexperienced and the dean and the director were not much help either. In so many words the dean told me that my grade was more important than acutally learning anything. Because I learned nothing in that class.

First and foremost, I am writing this because I keep seeing people ask, Should I go to ITT Tech when I look up college info. I do not blogâ or like to give my opinion. So I will not give you my opinion. I will give you my experience with ITT Tech. Why I went there? Why I left there? Why I went to a real college? And the pros and cons of both.
To start with, I knew nothing about college and I wanted a degree fast. So I saw ITT Tech and thought this would be a good place for me. I signed the contract and was told this would be better than other places. Things were good in criminal justice, having a 4.0, and working hard. But as time went on I found that the teaching was not that good. Here are some more reasons: A lot of teachers I found out were not qualified to teach a class and did; I saw a teacher let a student pass a class, who should have failed the class, right in front of me. The reason the teacher stated, I have to let a certain percent pass for enrollment stuff. Also, the course out-line for every class I went to were not even teaching the basics. I had it with ITT. I wanted to transfer my credits to a new college and move on. But there was one problem: ITT credits transfer no where. Trust me I tried. I had to start over after a year and half. I did not go in to CJ but a better field. And yes I tried to get my money back and had no luck. It was a hard lesson to learn, but I have a better education now.
ITT Pros- NONE! Well, ok one. You can do nothing and still get a degree. ITT Con's- The teachers are not up to standard all the time (qualified). You cannot pick your classes. You cannot choose to get used books, they come with the class. You will spend, more or less, $80,000. It takes 180 credits to get a BA. CREDITS WILL NOT TRANSFER. Not regionally accredited. Regionally accredited is the highest standard. DEGREE WILL NOT TRANSFER DUE TO CREDITS. Not considered a college, it is a trade school only. If they do not have a higher degree you are stuck with the level you have. Overall course out-line is not well rounded. I asked people in my chosen profession about ITT and all I heard was laughter.
Real college cons- May have to take remedial classes to meet standards. Real college pros- Highly qualified professors that teach in their field only. You can pick your classes. Can get used books. For a BA: state run, more or less, $15,000- 20,000; and are regionally accredited. Degree will transfer. Can get a PhD. Credits will transfer also. Overall course out-line is very will rounded to make you more worldly knowledgeable person. I asked people in my chosen profession about a real college and they said, Keep that GPA high and you will do just fine. You can get a degree fast i.e. you can take up to 7 classes at a time. I take 5 and do just fine. It only takes 120 credits to get a BA.
So, what is my out look on the real college experience: I am so glad I went to a real college. I know all my professors. If you make studying a part of your life you will do just fine. The professors are great. Some of my old professors are friends now too. Every college is different; so, I would say to find a college you like in order to make the experience funnier and better. Like I said this is my experience and not my opinion like others give. But I will leave you with these 3 things 1) Do your own research and ask if ITT Techs credits can transfer to the college you want to go to (you will get a better understanding if you ask why or why not?). 2) Ask your future employer where they prefer you to graduate from and what classes to take. 3) Before you graduate from a real college, join your professional association in your field. If you’re a student you fee will be free or $50 more or less VS in some cases $1000. Why is this important? Your professional association, like the APA for psychology, sends out a magazine about what is happening in you field, when their annual expo takes place (100's of top people will be there in you profession), and they have job listings that are only given to your professional association from top employers around the world. So, this is how you get the job, in this order: It is who you know (professional association), graduate from a good regionally accredited college with a good GPA, and have some experience i.e. internship. All in all, it is your choice not my choice. I just hope that my experience helps.

I went to school at the institution in Orland Park. I took the CEET classes and graduated salutatorian of my class. After graduating i met up with some of the career services representatives to aid myself with searching for a new career. The first job they got myself an interview for was DISH NETWORK! I wasn't impressed at all. It's not even related to what we learned in school. We worked on designing and troubleshooting electronic systems on circuit boards and other thing in that area, not installing home theatre satellite systems! That job didnt even require a AAS degree just a high school diploma. Why would I choose this institution ( by the way the learning experience was great im not discrediting that) and spend 40,000 dollars to work for someone that doesnt even require that sort of experience.
Any way im in the middle of a mid life crisis now that school loans are coming up and also have a baby on the way so i decided to take the job to care for my new family. I ended up quitting after the fourth day at Dish Network after realizing that doing partial landscape work and smelling like sewer systems in other peoples crawl spaces that this was definately not what i paid 40 grand to do. Now i understand that this country is in a recession right now a jobs are scare but i would never recommend a job like that to a new graduate....EVER!!!
Another funny thing is that the technician that was training me on the job said he had a friend that went to and ITT Tech in the area and tried recommending him a job at MCDONALDS because they school did not have any job leads at that time. Now if they didnt have any job leads at the time why didnt they just keep their mouths shut instead of giving ITT a bad name like that.
So now after i had quit the job, i called the representative back telling her what i had done and updated my resume and gave it to her asking if their was anything else just shoot me an email or a phone call and they said ok. After two months of waiting to hear a response I emailed them back asking if there had been any job leads recently and they said yes. So they sent me an email with a couple job descriptions and they told me to let them know if i was interested. I sent them an email back saying yes i would like to apply for both if possible. So then they sent an email back saying ok (and this is what got to me adding this review) then we'll just put your name on a list because there are other grads that havent received their first job yet. So i guess after you receive your first job then they dont give a hoot about you anymore and put your name at the bottom of a probable 100 person list to be even considered for an application only. And just to let you guys know career services is included with the cost of your tutition. So i guess its a one time only use then you've waisted a couple thousand dollars.
Now as for the school itself...the faculty is great and so is the curriculum. I learned so much now i dont have anywhere to use it. And as for Norullah's post about a teacher telling us that Devry is a better school...it was true. He told us that on the first class on the first day. I know because i sat right next to Norullah in that same class. Him and I are great buds now! So choose your next tech school carefully. Hope this helps!

I am writing in particular about ITT Orland Park, IL but I think this is VERY TRUE about ITT in general. If you are thinking about going to ITT, I would say take your money and flush it down your toilet then giving it ITT. At least you will not waste 2 years of your life. They charged you over $40,000 for an AAS degree back in 2006 and they have taken 5% increase year after year. So by the time you graduate, you might end up paying $50,000 for AAS degree. Even on of their instructors told student on their first day DeVry was better school than ITT. I didn't believe in it back then but I believe him now.
Now, except for 1 particular instructor and the way he taught, every other instructor was waste of time. I would say that their instructors are well educated but they simply CAN NOT teach. Speaking of instructor appearances, one of the instructors they hired for Group Dynamics classes, she had tattoos and body piercing. I guess, they must have paid her less than a minimum wage. Her 2nd day class, the class walked out and switched classes, not to mention she fell a sleep during the class watching Apollo13 in 2008????. Some electronics instructors couldn't even teach the class. They make you take BullShi** classes (such as strategies of technical professionals, problem solving to mention few) which doesn't even apply to your degree but yet you pay arm and a leg. Once again, if you want to waste your money and time then go to ITT. Hope this helps.
