I have been reading these reviews with mixed feelings. I started taking classes a month ago in a newly designed (first class) ASNursing program and I have nothing but GOOD things to say! Sure there have been snags and weeks where no one was really sure what was going on but that was due to it being a new program and the kinks needed to be worked out. The head of our program emails everyone almost daily. The instructors are very knowledgeable and have impressive stats.
I am 40 yrs old and haven't been in a classroom in a very long time so it's tough but, like anything else it takes working hard to get anywhere. I go to classes 3 days a week and spend the next 4 doing almost nothing but homework! Yeah it's a lot but at the same time your only going to get out of something what you put in to it! As for the cost factor yeah it's 50k BUT look at other nursing schools they are just as much if not more! Plus I like the fact that books were factored into the tuition.
I have a friend who is going to a community college for her LPN and she just spent 700 on books and that was only for one semester! The books they gave us were brand new, still in the wrappers! So for all you out there that are bad-mouthing ITT for one obviously your not serious about your education and for two if you don't want the hassle of paying back the loans, then stay out of school! I don't care what school you go too, your still going to have to take out loans!
I for one like the idea of not having to be on a waiting list and keep putting off something I've always wanted to do. I wanted a school that focused on just nursing, and that is exactly what the program here at ITT does!

In my 3rd quarter and have not learned a single thing, yet I have a 3.9 avg. the instructors teach as if your already supposed to know the material. the school is unorganized, not helpful with and problems you may have. ITT is a for profit school which makes it a business, a business whose only concern is making money and it shows. They will be quick to drop students but even quicker to accecpt new students as long as you pay up. please do some research before aquiring a massive debt with ITT.
