This is a great school if you're an ADN nurse and want a bridge program for your BSN. A little bit of info. It's the equivalent of 3 semesters. You take 1 class at a time for 5 weeks, and you just have to chug a long till you complete your courses. Every week you write a paper. It does get tiresome, but after you have your mental work out, writing papers become second nature.
I work full-time, and the RN-BSN program is doable. Check to see if GCU gives a discount to employees at your hospital. I get $1200 knocked off every semester because of where I work. You may ask why I choose GCU over other schools in Arizona. it's because UofA no longer offers the RN-BSN bridge program, while NAU and ASU required even for hoops to jump through which equalled 5 semesters of school compared to 3 semesters at GCU. All RN-BSN programs were online based as well, regardless of university I looked into. GCU RN-BSN program is accredited, so it is legit.
They also have a brick and mortar campus in Phoenix. I can't speak for other programs at GCU, but I recommend their program for ADN nurses.
If any nurses have any questions, feel free to email me at xxxxxxxxxx

GCU is a for-profit school. I found a large amount of the student to be of low quality, which implies no form of assessment is done to match academic skills sets. Students are placed in classes that required you to write in APA format, but many have not even completed a basic English course. Class size can as small as 2 (two)student.
Clearly, this about the money$$$. Non-teaching staff turnover is insane. GCU neglects to clearly state they embrace a " Liberal World view" on Christianity...this IS NOT A INTEGRAL CHRIST CENTERED INSTITUTION. They real need to drop the sells pick about being a Christian University. Staff nor faculty are required to sign a Statement of Faith, for those who are seeking to find a decent Christian University. Seek elsewhere there are to many quality school that are not-for-profit.
Instructors DO NOT generate their own course outline, this information is per-loaded by a department at GCU..there is not real creativity, but hey, if you want quick, easy and expensive. GCU is for you! Heed the BAD reviews they out weigh the good ones, which should mean RED FLAG. JUST SAY NO!!!

I took a class at Grand Canyon for professional developement. I had all kinds of issues turning in assignments because I have a Mac. I also got a zero for an assignment because I turned it into the turitin box but not the angel box. I tried to appeal since I had evidence that I turned in my assignment but the professor fought me and won.
My instructor took forever to get assignments back to me and said nothing about the zero. I got no feedback on any assignment I turned in. I will say that my enrollment counselor was amazing and did everything he could to help me get my grade fixed. I will not take a class thorugh them ever again.

The past couple of years I have attended GCU and have just completed my final class in my first degree with them. I cannot say enough about how excellent the school is and the vast amount of knowledge learned from the Professors.
One can literally see the difference from start to finish on how the program and the learning experience changes ones thought process. Issues being addressed and what is happening in the world today is what is taught and is very effective. The learning experience is great but it does not come easy. Course work is hard and you are expected to participate, no sitting in the back of the classroom and not participating.
There were a couple of minor hiccups but this comes with every school I have dealt with and they resolved the issues. GCU is a school I have recommended to many people, friends, family and business associates, as the place to go if you are seeking a life changing experience while EARNING your degree.

This has been one disappointment after another. Neither the staff or instructors are interested in anything but money. If you happen to have an issue that needs to be addressed you will get no support and little help. If I wasn't as vested as I am I would call it a learning experience and move on. If you want to be part of a Christian organization I would suggest donating to your church or some other worthy organization. Don't waste your time or money.
I had conflicts that I tried to correct and was told there was nothing that could be done. An issue in a class that the instructor simply brushed off and getting help from many of the instructors is a wasted effort. Really do yourself a favor and keep looking.
