You will not be a nurse when you get done with this. You will be a master of ESP. I am an engineer; I was unable to succeed in this course. That is all I can tell you. Read between the lines!!!!

I attended this school for over two years to finish my Psychology degree. I was told I was given a small scholarship to cover the last class I needed, since I was at my loan limit, but then after I finished the class(with an A) I was told that I didn't qualify for the scholarship. I was told that my academic counselor made a mistake, but that there was nothing they could do about it!
My degree is now being held hostage while I slowly pay back the $1500 I am told that I owe.
Very disappointing for a "Christian" university!!! After reading the reviews here, I see that I am not the only one. I am going to look into what I can do legally by making some phone calls to the Phoenix area district attorney. If enough people call they might actually hold them accountable.

I was accepted into the RN-BSN and began classes Jan 2010 after 3 classes( 15 weeks in) I was informed I was not officially accepted in the BSN program as there a was a problem with my GPA from my ADN program being .10 pts too low. Got that resolved continued on, financial aid turnover is horrible as is the turnover for advisors. I was actually enrolled into a class which required a pre-req course by my enrollment counselor then when questioned as to why - response hum uh well I know you will do well in the class. Are you kidding me?
Most of the instructors were angels sent to earth and went above and beyond to see you succeed. After completing my program in March of 2011 I was told that I still owed 750.00 for my last class when I inquired why/how this happened as I had a student loan and had received a refund check. Again the response was I don't know I just took over your account- multiple messages for the Director of Financial aid well it 2012 and I have yet to get a f/u call. I paid the 750.00. Graduated in May of 2011 after multiple calls- lies about this that or the other I finally received my degree in Aug.
The course work is vigorous 5 weeks is not a long time to really learn and retain a lot.

I am a recent graduate of GCU, however I have not been able to get my diploma or IR or move to graduate status. This is because on the last day of my schooling, a bill of $1450 was added on my account. Overpayment for financial aid, which they did not tell me about, I just happened to check my account to make sure everything was good. Now since the middle of December, I've been fighting for some kind of arrangement to get this resolved and move on. Seems crooked to me!!!!

As with most things you get out what you put in. I graduated from GCU in 2008 with my MBA and my time there is known to my family as when I was MIA. I made it a point to actually learn the material myself, and the instructors were always there with a guiding hand when needed.
I have a BA and an M.Ed from a small state school as well and I must say that the format that GCU uses was much better for me to grasp concepts. You are not simply sitting and listening to someone yammer on for an hour a day and hope you retain it, but rather you are given a theoretical framework in reading and conversations with the class, then asked to apply it in weekly projects and or papers.
I will agree that I had the same frustration with group work, but that is not uncommon among any MBA programs. I have friends that have their MBA's from state and private schools and they all state the same problem that there is always one or two in the group that will not contribute. This is not a school issue, rather an issue with individual drive and accountability.
All in all my experience was positive. I gained solid skills that have allowed me to think more globally and strategically. Since graduation, I have been able to apply those skills resulting in three promotions in 3 years and a 25% gain in income (even in a horrible economy). Again...If you want a education to fall into your lap you may be able to get by anywhere...The real test is what you do with the opportunity and information you are given.
