I wish I had done research on this school before I enrolled almost two years ago. Beware for the following:
1) Not all undergraduate schools require 96 credits to get a degree. DO YOUR RESEARCH! It should take you anywhere from 60-68 credits to get your required degree.
2) They offer nonsense courses. I'm going for my associate degree. Aside from the normal classes -- Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Composition -- what other schools give you "Strategies for Success," "Career Skills & Portfolio Management," and "Basic Computer Applications?" Really?! Those classes won't even transfer to another school!
3) Student Services are not very knowledgeable. Any student who threatens to leave, the first thing they scream is, "You may jeopardize your financial aid." They're worried they won't get any more money.
Although I liked some of my instructors, do yourself a favor and try a school that's near your hometown. They're not worth it.

I was excited about completing my Associate degree in Business/Marketing and had attended Everest University Online for a year from 2011-2012.
During that year, the online class interaction was disappointing. In the beginning of each class, you give your bio and for the first 4 weeks, everyone seems to participate. All seems to go well. As the weeks go by, more and more students stop posting or become very lax in their responses. "Net and text speak" do not get challenged by the Instructors in your classroom forums and even though those students may get lower marks, they should have been asked to re-post in proper sentence formats. How can these students learn if they are not made to correct their mistakes?
I hardly ever got challenged in the classroom forum and this bothered me. Not even my instructors challenged me - except for the Accounting and Environment Science Professors I had. I gave them high marks. But since you are "required" to respond to 2 students and/or an instructor, this made my personal interaction more difficult. Everyone was always commenting on my great answers but never asking me to expand. That didn't help me as a student at all. And for me, responding to a student or students who write in "net speak" or incomplete sentences is frustrating - after all, we WERE in COLLEGE together!
Financial Aid is very non-responsive. Of course when you become a pest, they call you finally and claim to state they E-mailed you. It was always the same response when I needed assistance and after I contacted the head of the department, I'd get a call stating an E-mail was sent and to check my junk folder. Please! I know how to check that and know for a fact nothing was sent. I always take written notes when I am on the phone as well. They were so lax in financial aid that my Genesis loan expired because they took too long to respond to the 30 day deadline. This meant I had to get them to resubmit everything and push my loan back through and wait another 30 days. Of course by that time, a new term was in full swing.
My Advisor was the best person at this school. She was always there for me - except when she went missing for about two months. Seriously, I was told she was gone and they did not know where she was or when she'd be back. (I have the E-mail). Other than that, when she miraculously returned, no apologies, but our connection was still there. She helped as much as she could.
Now - I will say regarding "Quizzes". This was my biggest disappointment at EUO. I personally had to challenge 4 different quizzes (which were open book). The quizzes I challenged clearly had incorrect answers and I was able to back up the correct answers by referencing the textbooks. After my complaints, these quizzes were apparently "corrected for future students". I thought it important to make a fuss about these tests being incorrectly marked. I left there with a 4.0GPA and was asked why getting these tests corrected was a big deal. Like I mentioned above and wondered .... How long have these incorrect quizzes been out there? How many former students failed or had a lower grade because they were on the border of two grades?
Any company or school is only as good as the people they hire to work for them. Everest University Online is no exception. I had been told since the beginning of starting there that my "campus" was Orlando South. I even had to change my FAFSA because I originally put Tempe, AZ. Low and behold I found out two weeks ago when it came time to request my final transcript (another horror story), they stated I was registered in the Tempe, AZ campus. What!?!?
Now, this school seems to work for my friend who is in their nursing program. But it did NOT work well for me. Now I find not even half of my credits earned will transfer to my new college. Same program of studies too. So I just move forward and get it done elsewhere.

I am in the second week of my last semester at Everest University online for a degree in Medical Billing and Coding. My experience with this school has been a great one. I have had a great experience with everyone in student services, financial aid, and all of my professors. If a student makes an effort, asks questions, and participates to the fullest, they are guaranteed to graduate with good grades. I have been on the honor roll, deans list, and inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars through this school and have received certificates in certain classes for completing my assignments with high grades. The books are included in your tuition and they have great tutoring available with web cam live tutoring now.
This school is accredited and I am sure that I will not have a problem finding a position in my field of study, especially since they have a wonderful package and program to help me find one. I would recommend this school to anyone that has a busy schedule and can't attend on campus classes. The flexibility of the classes is amazing and financial aid was easy to obtain.

I have just finished my first term, a mini term, towards my Paralegal degree. I have seen several comments that were very negative. The underlying pattern I see, most of those students did not follow up or ask enough/correct questions. Students need to realize that this is an investment into their future.
It may be more expensive to attend Everest than your local community college, but you have the flexibility to attend online and at your pace and schedule. As long as you participate each week and submit adequate work, you will progress nicely.
The professors I have had were great. They gave great feedback and criticized when appropriate. All of my professors are professionals in their fields. I had an attorney, a PhD, and specialist with over 20 years of professional experience in his field.
I easily went through the financial aid process. Students have to take a proactive role in asking questions and following up on financial aid. Numerous websites explain everything about the process. There are also websites to check the status of the financial aid process. I did max out my loans to assist while I am in school and not working full time. I also did research to find out what the legal regulation and requirements are. The law and regulations for financial aid apply to Everest just like local schools. Would you buy a car without knowing the details and the “small print”? Why would you enroll in a school without knowing?
The people I have dealt with in Student Services have been very helpful. They have responded within hours most of the time. I have had adequate input into my scheduling. They have scheduling models that they use for the various programs. This is a guide but you still have a say in what or how many classes you take. Why not take advantage of their advice, which is based on the record of those who have attended before us?
There are always “bad apples” in every bushel. Call a supervisor or complain to someone of authority if you have an issue or believe you are not getting proper service.

I see a lot of people complaining about the school well I think the school is great. Everyone has been so helpful to me in explaining everything I needed to do to succeed. I start the 17th and the books and computer is amazing. I'm so excited about this semester! I believe this school is great for anyone has a family or a big university just isn't for you.
