I had a vision to create job security and a path forward for career growth. Ashford University fulfilled that vision by helping me enroll, attain financial aid, and choose a Bachelor's Degree that complimented my 15 years of experience in IT without limiting my future to IT. I earned my Associate's degree many years ago and attended the University of Florida for a while before entering the IT field. Ashford's online format enabled me to earn my degree while working.
To prospective students, it is not easy. The classes contain high quality and dificult content. There are deadlines, due dates, and participation in discussion forums is mandatory. I had to be better organized and more diciplined than I did attending traditional classes. The teachers, Academic Advisors, and staff provide tools and assistance to help students manage their time, Their stress, and their health. My Advisor, Joel Brubaker was always there for me, especially at the end when I was tired, weary, and overwhelmed. I completed my degree last week with a degree GPA of 3.67. If you are willing to put forth the effort and work, earning a degree from Ashford is worthwhile. Throughout my time at Ashfors, I applied my new knowledge in the workplace. I have been promoted twice in the last year, largely due to concepts I learned and applied while I was working on my degree. I am considering pursuing a Master's degree from Ashford after I spend some quality time with my wife and sons.

For all those students who are saying that Ashford is a good school, I want to see if you feel the same way when it is time for you to graduate. That is when they stick it to you. Believe me when it's time for you to graduate, you will be singing another tune. I use to saying the same thing, would tell everyone I knew about the school if they wanted to continue their education. Now I wouldn't recommend this school to my worst enemy. I would never do that to them.
For those who have not graduated yet and thinks Ashford is the best. Financial aid will make sure you change your mind; they are the biggest jokers in the deck. They tried twice to rip me off, saying that I owe almost $3700. The first time I complained about it, I guess they didn't want to deal with it and lied and told me it was taken care, (they forgot to say for now). When it was time for me to graduate, after I paid everything I needed to graduate, having a zero balance, thinking I was going to get my degree, HA the joke was on me. They decided now was the right time to take care of it. The thing about it I didn't owe them the money. I went through hell and back getting it straighten out, almost three months later I finally got my degree, that's useless to me, they never told me the main component I needed to use this degree, they didn't offer. I had only five months left before graduation when they told me they didn't offer it.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THOSE WHO HAS THEIR EYES CLOSED FOR NOW. The last three questions I have to lie and say yes if I want this to post. I would not recommend this school nor the degree I got here to my dogs. Hell no that degree didn't help my career.

I joined Ashford University because it sounded wonderful. They made it sound like most of my credits would transfer. Expecting over 80 credits, I only had 50. I have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development, and was continuing for a Bachelor's. They were trying to make me retake Intro to Childhood Development and many other courses which I had credit for. The worst part is their Intro class offered far less information and course work than my Intro class I had already completed; not to mention the fact I already had an Associate's.
The work was disgustingly easy, and an insult to the hard work I put into my Associate's Degree with Belmont College. I graduated with Honors and was a part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
There was no contact information for the Registrar to fight for credit, and no one would give me information. This was a waste of my financial aid and hard work. I was very angry and disappointed.

There are a number of negative reviews about Ashford and I assume most of those are from students who should not be enrolled in college. The Masters program essentially has an "open enrollment" and some of the students in my initial classes could not write at a 5th grade level. I can understand how they would become frustrated with the program because Ashford is a test of your writing skills and dedication to the program. In no way is this an easy task, trying to complete an MBA. You are expected to have a certain level of comprehension and you are on your own to complete coursework and other required items.
I had zero issues with Ashford and felt they provided a solid program that challenged me throughout.

I graduate from Ashford on Nov 2011, with a B.A in Organizational Management with a concentration in Engineering for classes I took in another school and the Degree is well respected and accepted. Right now I’m attending the MBA program at Florida International University (FIU) and was no problem at all with the transcripts.
If the University is regionally accredited the credit will be accepted by other regionally accredited institutions. Who is saying that have a problem to enter a graduate school because he/her graduate from Ashford is lying.
What is true is the inefficiency of their Financial Department; they are a joke and push students to look for other alternative to achieve their academic goals.
