I got my AA in sociology on a campus college close to home, but then decided to go online. I chose Ashford because they have a lot of military students, and are adding new programs rapidly. One issue I would like for them to is have a Master in Social Work program, because if they do not have it by the time I graduate with this Masters, I will have to transfer somewhere, attain that goal.
As for the educational assignments being to easy, I have to agree with a previous post which had a statement saying" For those whom think the work is not hard enough. well you get what put into it". If one will treat each course as if they were on campus in the classroom. and dedicate them self to learning, well they might not find it so easy....

Ashford University is prefect for busy people! I started Ashford University last year and in the beginning it was a little difficult.
My main issue was with the financial department. I have had seven different financial advisors at AU and they would change them without even giving me notice, but now things have changed greatly. My financial advisor is also my academic advisor which is great because I'm not speaking to numerous people, just one person and she handles everything. My classes are wonderful and challenging. So far, my experience at AU is great and I'm making preparations next year to pursue my masters.

I went to UC Berkeley for my BA- yes it was incredibly challenging, but now that I work full time and have to do so, a master's degree seemed impossible. Ashford was the solution.
I LOVE the online format. At Cal, I was a small to medium at best fish in a huge pond. I battled for time and recognition from my instructors. At Ashford, professors provide individualized attention and really make themselves accessible. Ashford is MORE affordable than my not-for-profit state school, and I am experiencing the same if not more challenging levels of curriculum. (You still gotta do the work!) I highly endorse Ashford and recommend it to all my friends. All online programs are NOT equal.

I have been to several online schools and finally have found my home at Ashford. I am a year away from completing my dual Bachelors degree in English and Communications and could not be happier. Those that are complaining that the course work is not hard enough are more than likely not really reading the material and applying it. Sure, I could hurry through the information, read for only the answer and slap something in a word document. But, with Ashford, and any online institution for that matter, you have to put in the time and make it into something. You do have to participate in discussions and this is something that I think is so good about this rather than a traditional school.
After all, how many people would participate in a discussion in a brick and mortar school? Most people simply sit there and wait for the time that they get to leave.
I find that the teachers are good, though there have been a few that I have not cared for, but this was personal preference.
Overall, I would recommend Ashford, yes there may be a few bumps and bruises along the way, but it is what you make it.

I was able to attend Ashford University by receiving a scholarship through Project Working Mom.
I am currently completing my degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. The coursework, for what I expected from an online school, was surprisingly challenging, and the curriculum is thorough.
Most of the teachers are very helpful and responsive, though I have had a handful that were unreasonably tough, but I assume that would be the case at any college.
I have been able to connect offline with several of my classmates, and I have found their friendship to be an invaluable complement to the degree that will hopefuly land me in the job of my dreams after graduation.
I visited Ashford's campus two years ago to attend a friend's graduation, and it was nice to be able to feel like a real part of an actual institution.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Ashford to someone seeking an online education. Just like a stationary college, it is not for the faint of heart or mind. It isn't a cakewalk. It's real college for real life.
