I took classes at Argosy University for 10 months. The day before Thanksgiving, they called me and said that suddenly my financial aid was not enough and I had to agree to pay them X amount of dollars a month out of pocket otherwise I would be locked out of class. Sure enough, I was locked out. The bachelor's degree here costs almost $64K when the same degree at a top 10 online school costs less than half that.

It seemed like every time I logged on, I'd have a different counselor. The turnover rate there seems very high. Once someone called me and stated that the other person had gotten "promotion with the company" and moved on. This was a big red flag for me.

In my first class, there was another student who clearly had no business in college. She wrote on a second grade level and her contributions were far removed from what we were instructed to do. The instructor treated her well but this was another red flag. It seems like they accept students just to get the money. Some of the instructors don't seem really interested. Some do. The classes are 5 weeks each which is something I loved but not enough to keep me there. I transferred out last week.

This school sucks, plain and simple. They want to take your money, but not give you a break when it comes to my computer crashing. I got online tonight to do my homework and their site is totally down. Do you think they will give me an extension on my schoolwork now?? Doubt it. Argosy is a JOKE.

I have attended Argosy for nearly two years now. It has been an awesome experience.I would recommend this school in a heartbeat! I love Argosy because of the learnig environment and the individuals who are there to aid in successful outcomes. The course material is easily assessable and teaches relevant information pertaining to each class. I would suggest this school over any other online program available.

I was in the Doctorate program for several years. I took all the classes and did well and learned significantly. I also passed my comps.

A few years ago every few months you had to go to Sarasota and have all weekend classes, from 2 pm on Friday until 5 pm on Sunday. That was the best part of the program and they have cancelled that part. I guess to compete with other online programs that did not have that requirement. I learned a lot networking and learning from my co-students.

I thought the teachers were fairly good, some better than others and one really bad. But all that is to be expected. The online learning is a little different but it worked out well for me. Then the real bad news. I started out working on my dissertation and somehow I had a dissertation chair that did nothing. I received no guidance or anything.

Since I knew nothing about the dissertation process, or at least very little since this was my first time, I thought everything was going good and I kept writing. I wrote about a 150 page dissertation without doing things just the right way. Of course I had zero help or advice. When my dissertation chair changed they gave me someone that I could not understand. I mean really not understand. I would correspond by email and I would kind of understand what he was saying but when I spoke to him in person or on the phone I could not understand what he was saying at all. I could understand that he told me everything I did was wrong. So after paying a lot of money I was going nowhere. So I complained and they gave me another dissertation chair. I think this was really just to get another semester of payments out of me. This guy just told me I needed to totally start over on my dissertation. He would not approve anything I did or help with any ideas.

Even my adviser gave me some good ideas and when I would copy it almost word for word, just to see a response, my chair would not even give it any positive feedback. So at the end they would not even reply to my emails. My problem with my dissertation, I now know, is my research question wasn't satisfactory. I was doing more of pure research. I wish someone would have told me before I spent several years on this. With just a little help I could have done this. In addition my last chair told me my research has to be totally new and something no one has every done before. Well that is a pretty tall order and I have found out you can extend the learning and still have new things for the research. My topic was the move from US GAAP to IFRS and to find something that no one has ever written about is very difficult and probably if you you did find a topic no one would care anyway, it would be so obscure.

Just to check on this I came up with a very very narrow focused topic and something I am sure no one has ever researched before and sent it to my chair. Once again he did not respond. This degree was very important to me. I am sorry I went through three chairs and 3 advisers, which hurt my chances a lot. Later on in the process I found out they had a few very competent people in the school that could help me, people in the office for business dissertations, but you still have to get things past you chair.

I have other plans now to move forward and be successful but spending a lot of money on this degree and not achieving it has hurt me financially as well as for possible jobs. I am looking for other options for my future though.

I recently completed my doctorate at Argosy and would highly recommended it to anyone who is looking for a challenging experience and, for me, one of the most challenging in my lifetime.

The cross section of students was most impressive and extremely diverse, with great interaction. Having attended other universities for my undergrad work, the faculty at Argosy were far more responsive to my needs, which made me feel as though they were actually concerned for my success.

In fact, I beleive Argosy has one of the highest success rates for doctoral completions than many other academic institutions I've experienced.

As far as tution, though it has risen since I first started my program, what university program hasn't? It continues, however, to be flooded with new students who feel its still one of the best deals around.
