The Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) certifies that a student can meet industry standards for a professional developer using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Web services on the Microsoft .NET framework. Certification is based a series of exams. First students must pass either a Web Application Development Exam or Windows Application Development Exam, then a Web Services and Server Components exam.
