What should I know when considering a degree in MBA in Human Resources ?

Employees are the backbone of every establishment. The success or failure of any company is largely dependent upon the quality and dedication of those who carry out its daily operations. The services of human resource professionals are enlisted by virtually every industry to oversee an organization's employees and the programs that govern them. Since human resource professionals are employed by such a wide variety of organizations, specific salaries will vary based on industry, employer, experience, and specialization. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual salary for human resource specialists was reported to be $50,230. The median annual salary for human resource professionals in management positions was reported to be $92,710.

Among the industries paying the highest wages for human resource professionals are corporations, local and state governments, colleges and universities, and hospitals. The BLS projects a continued employment growth of about 17% through the year 2016.

An MBA in human resources may significantly enhance a professional's potential for advancement to management-level positions. It may also give them an edge over those competitors with degrees in other areas.
