Established in 1898, International Business College has provided career training in business, healthcare, and office technology through the use of current equipment and practices and industry-modeled curriculum. By employing computer technology and networking, IBC is able to extend education to adapt and conform to professional trends and thereby enable IBC graduates to be prepared for success with highly marketable skill sets.
Students who have already received previous business education or career experience have the option of applying that learning toward advanced standing. Admissions eligibility is determined by taking the Career Program Assessment test (CPAt).
Financial aid is available to qualified students and includes federal loans and grants. Scholarship opportunities include the International Business Scholarship Program through IBC. One scholarship is administered through the Career and Technology Advisory Committee.

Administrative AssistantAdministrative Assistant This 50 quarter credit hour program provides hands-on skill training in MS Office XP, accounting & business law, personnel supervision, office communication, business correspondence, and records management and general office procedures. MS Office Specialist certification is available. Graduates typically find careers in business, law, and medical offices, twin plants, wholesalers, retailers, construction companies, insurance companies, government agencies, and schools.
Business Administration (Associate Degree)Business Administration (Associate Degree) Learn skills to supervise clerical and administrative support personnel as a Manager with career administrative training in MS Office XP, accounting & business law, personnel supervision, office communication skills, business correspondence, records management, and general office procedures to be able to perform the same duties as those supervised. Additional skills in management, accounting, marketing, and personnel are also incorporated in Associate Degree learning for management positions in business offices, banks, twin plants, schools & universities, insurance companies, government agencies, and import/export companies. The length of the program is 98 quarter credit hours.
Computerized AccountingComputerized Accounting Develop skills in calculating, posting, and verifying financial data used in maintaining accounting records using a computer system to perform specific detailed tasks (i.e. charges, refunds, costs of lost/damaged goods, freight charges, etc.). Specific training is provided in MS Office XP, financial and accounting procedures, and Peachtree and QuickBooks Accounting Software in this 40 quarter credit hour program. MS Office Specialist certification is available. Graduates typically enter careers in public accounting firms, medical offices, twin plants, import/export companies, and Federal, State, and Local Government.
Office TechnologyOffice Technology During this 38 quarter credit hour program, students are provided with skill training to operate data entry devices and office equipment, compare data entered with source material, check for errors, and compile/sort data as an Office Clerk, Administrative Clerk, a Secretary, Data Entry Specialist, Telemarketer, Project Management Clerk, or General Secretary in business offices, banks, schools, and government agencies. Training also includes skills in office communication, business correspondence, and records management along with exposure to and available certification for MS Office Specialist.
Health Information TechnologyHealth Information Technology Develop skills to administer oral, topical, and injectable medications, assist with clinical examinations, and perform tests in a health care facility along with basic front office skills. Specific training in office communication, professional development for health care personnel, computerized billing, insurance form coding, medical law and ethics, and health information management provide a marketable knowledge foundation for a career as an ECG technician, medical assistant, health unit coordinator, medical/insurance billing clerk, insurance coder, or surgical unit assistant in this 41 quarter credit hour program.
Medical AssistantMedical Assistant Learn to take patient histories and vital signs, administer first aid and perform CPR, prep patients, assist physicians with exams and treatments, collect and process specimens, perform diagnostic tests, administer medication as directed by a physician, transcribe medical records, process Medicare, and Medicaid forms, post patient accounts, and enter procedure codes. Additional training in front office and clinical skills prepare graduates for employment as ECG techs, medical assistants, health unit coordinators, or surgical assistants in hospitals, clinics, and physicians� offices in this 42 quarter credit hour program.
Medical Office TechnicianMedical Office Technician In this 38 quarter credit hour program, students learn medical terminology, hospital/clinic/lab procedures, medical billing and coding, recording histories, managing records, and doing medical dictation. MS Office Specialist certification is also available. Graduates typically enter Medical Office Administration careers in physicians� offices, medical groups, hospitals, public health clinics, nursing homes, business offices, and schools & universities.
Legal Office AssistantLegal Office Assistant Gain an understanding of legal office procedures like preparing legal papers, summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas; review law journals for pertinent information; and organize and maintain legal files and scheduling. Specific education during this 46 quarter credit hour program include MS Office XP training, business, criminal, and family law, civil litigation & legal office procedures, office communication, business correspondence, and records management. Graduates typically enter careers in general law firms, corporate and business law firms, public defender offices as legal aids, and government agencies.
