#1 - The American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship offers students a chance to learn about safety, with possible monetary awards. All you need to do is read an article on fire sprinkler safety and then take a ten question, open-book test. #2 - The Society of Vacuum Coaters has established a scholarship program with the aim of promoting the study of vacuum coating technology (link: http://www.svc.org/AboutSVC/AS_AppsofVac.html). If you you are already interested in vacuum coating or think you might want to study the subject, you can apply for the scholarship here click here. The SVC scholarship committee looks for good grades, an interest in vacuum coating related subjects such as physics or math, and demonstrable financial need.
#3 - The Tall Clubs International (TCI) Foundation has a scholarship of up to $1000 for just being your tall self. Students in North America under 21 who are attending their first year of college may apply if they meet the height requirements: 6'2" for men and 5'10" for women. Though the TCI Foundation provides the funds for the scholarship, its actually Tall Clubs International, a legally separate entity.

#4 - The Sunsport Gardens Family Naturist Resort offers the American Nudist Research Library scholarship to high school seniors and recent graduates. This $1,000 scholarship is only awarded to students who have been a member of a nudist organization for at least three years. Applicants must write a brief essay. The organization also offers a $500 award for a 500-word publishable article that includes photographs. This award is open to any full-time student who belongs to a nudist organization. #5 - The winner of the Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest, open to any high school senior in the United States, will receive a $1,500 scholarship. Scholarships of $500, $300, and $200 are awarded to runner ups. Contestants have 90 seconds to use four different calls: hail, feed, comeback, and mating. #6 - Student-athletes can apply to be one of the 25 winners of the Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) scholarship awards. Every SAMMY winner receives $7500 for college, a spot in a USA Today advertisement, and an all-expense paid trip to the Disney Wide World of Sports Milk House where they will be inducted into the Milk House Hall of Fame. #7 (TIE) - Have the last name of Gatling or Gatlin? Then you might eligible for the John Gatling Scholarship. The scholarship provides a full ride to North Carolina State University. Top priority will be given to students with financial need, so make sure you fill out your FAFSA.
#9 - The drug company Tylenol has established its own scholarship fund to help educate the next generation of doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals. In 2008, they will award 170 students, selected for their leadership qualities and academic performance, scholarships of either $1000 or $5000. Apply . here
#10 - The Culinary Institute of America hosts the All-American Apple pie Recipe Contest every year for future chefs. The top three winners receive scholarships of $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000 to the Institute. Call 1-800-CULINARY for more information.
