Bowling Green- Some of the best years of my life!

I went to BGSU for 2 years before I transferred to focus on another major they didn't offer (very specialized veterinary major). However, I sorely missed BGSU for the great social life, tight-knit community feel and all of the great history that is BGSU.
The "town" of BG is a great little town with several fun bar and club options as well as small stores, etc. OFf campus housing is preferred but it was also great to live on-campus one year to make many, life-long friends.
I go back to BG whenever I can to party, walk around campus and reminisce. It truly was a great school, not too challenging, as others have said, but a good, solid education without all of the pressure of some other schools all of the time. The academics are great and school spirit are even greater. I had some of the most dedicated, passionate professors while there and I missed that! I wish I could go back... I never would have transferred away to focus on my career... which comes WAAAAy to quickly, I may add. :)
Good not great (Campus experience)

BG is a good, not great, school. It was just about perfect for my situation. I attended public schools in Toledo, Ohio, was an above-average but not great student, and was not sure what I wanted to do with my life. I really thrived at BG and went on to a successful career. The best thing about BG is that it offers a very wide range of majors, but isn't an academic pressure-cooker. Students are able to try a lot of different things without fear of flunking out. (There are technical courses but no engineering program, which is a drawback for geeks like me.) The few really good students got a lot of attention from the faculty, who often assigned special projects or formed clubs to keep the best students interested. Brilliant, highly-motivated students should probably go somewhere else; the level of challenge just isn't very high, because BG is not hard to get into. Also, it helps if you're into Greek life or just goofing off and drinking in general; the social life was a bit lacking otherwise. The town of Bowling Green is small and somewhat dull. The sports programs are good, and Division I football, basketball, and hockey often bring big-name opponents to campus. In general, BG is a good school if you're a reasonably serious student, want a good eduction, are fairly sociable, and don't want a lot of academic pressure. Among the public universities in Ohio, I'd say it's slightly above average.

It was a great education from a respected University. I am just as proud of my BGSU degree as anyone that attended, either online or on campus. Classes are delivered through a Web-based enterprise portal. That I could acess as needed. It provided me with the flexible schedule I required.
The portal also has chat features one-on-one time with faculty and student-to-student contact. I am proud of my accomplishment and met more friends and contacts than I thought possible online. My new degree allows me the opportunity to advance my career beyond my expectations.
