The Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs oversees business programs offering associate and bachelor's degrees. It is recognized as a national accreditor by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Established in 1988, the association was created to become a specialized accreditor of business programs. At its inception, the business world was in the midst of a huge expansion explosion that continues today. The ACBSP is the leading specialized accreditor of business programs in the United States. Graduates of ACBSP accredited programs are often easily place in the job market because their training is seen as a high quality preparation for the field of business.

The association not only establishes and maintains the professional training standards in business schools, but also encourages research into how to push the world of business past the traditions of the past. There are nearly 300 business programs accredited by ACBSP and many more seeking to be under its umbrella.
