Student Appeal
Programs are taught by instructors with professional real-world experience to offer students an inside perspective into industry practices and methodologies. Each program is designed to reflect the most current industry standards. Students benefit from individual attention and career guidance, academic assistance, and peer learning teams. Classes include a combination of classroom education and online learning. Advanced labs and network resources enable students to take advantage of the same resources that are available in professional environments.
Financial
Qualified students may receive financial aid in the form of federal and state loans, grants, work-study, private awards, or tuition reimbursement. Scholarships are also available. Financial Aid Advisors are accomplished and experienced to help students with tuition payment options. AIU is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Business AdministrationBusiness Administration The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) combines general education courses that can provide liberal arts foundation with a coherent business core that is designed to provide a foundation for careers in business and management or preparation for advanced study. This program is designed to provide a solid base of knowledge for any business professional. It also provides a foundation for students who wish to pursue an advanced degree at the Master’s level. The BBA degree meets the lower-levels requirement (180 credits) of the Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Business Administration - ManagementBusiness Administration - Management The Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Management can help prepare students to develop the managerial skills and professional competencies needed to compete in today’s increasingly global markets. This program offers a unique, market-relevant combination of comprehensive business studies and real-world applications. The curriculum is designed to give students the advanced knowledge, skills, and practical, experience-based education necessary to accelerate their careers in senior positions in business or management.
Criminal JusticeCriminal Justice The AIU Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice is designed to help students acquire knowledge and abilities in criminal justice and juvenile justice processes, criminology, law enforcement, law adjudication and corrections. The primary goal of this program is to prepare students to become qualified criminal justice professionals.
Criminal Justice-CorrectionsCriminal Justice-Corrections The BSCJ with a concentration in Corrections features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. Students will have the opportunity to examine some current alternatives to correctional institutions, the probation and parole system, common characteristics of offenders and how these traits affect their treatment, and functioning of the juvenile corrections system.
Criminal Justice-Forensic ScienceCriminal Justice-Forensic Science The BSCJ with a concentration in Forensic Science features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. The comprehensive curriculum covers processing a crime scene; documenting, packaging and securing evidence collected from the scene; processing latent and patent evidence, including fingerprints, footwear impressions, and hair and fiber evidence; identifying types of body trauma, stages of decomposition, and time of death; and notifying a victim’s family of a death.
Criminal Justice-GeneralCriminal Justice-General The BSCJ with a concentration in General Criminal Justice features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. Key topics addressed in this degree program include the elements of a criminal investigation, relationship between drug use and crime, role of various criminal justice agencies, and probation and parole system.
Criminal Justice-Law EnforcementCriminal Justice-Law Enforcement The BSCJ with a concentration in Law Enforcement features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. Key topics addressed in this degree program include the culture and operations of law enforcement agencies, relationship between the police and surrounding community, elements of a criminal investigation, and methods of crime prevention.
Criminal Justice-Law/CourtsCriminal Justice-Law/Courts The BSCJ with a concentration in Law/Courts features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. Key topics addressed in this degree program include an overview of the American judicial system, the role of the courts in determining social policy, rules of law and evidence, and an introduction to constitutional law.
Fashion Marketing and DesignFashion Marketing and Design The Fashion Design with Marketing program focuses on preparing graduates to be creative, market-aware designers. Through this program, they can learn how to create innovative designs, based on original research, consumer needs and commercial environments, responding rapidly to emerging markets and market trends. By graduation, they should be trend interpreters, customer-focused and have a strong appreciation of marketing issues. They should have the abilities to design, prototype and construct clothing ranges that combine both their personal philosophy about design and the needs of the marketplace. And upon graduation, they should be able to work in the fashion industry as competent professionals.
Information TechnologyInformation Technology The AIU Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) is a comprehensive, industry-specific program that is designed to help prepare students to embark on careers in the IT field. Through the program, students can acquire not only high-quality technical knowledge and hands-on abilities but also key career skills in areas including leadership, behavioral understanding, change management, and project management. The BIT program can equip student with the technical and commercial understanding needed to begin a successful career in a high-tech field or in any organization that relies on IT.
Information Technology - Computer SystemsInformation Technology - Computer Systems The BIT with a concentration in Computer Systems features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. The program focuses on relational database design and implementation, data management, security issues, and the installation, configuration and administration of advanced Internet technologies such as web servers and e-mail servers.
Instructional TechnologyInstructional Technology AIU's Master of Education in Instructional Technology was created to provide a solid foundation for effective educational practice and career advancement for all levels of educational practitioners, including K-12, higher education, and corporate learning. Students have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in learning theory, instructional design, and instructional technology, and application of educational research methods.
Interior DesignInterior Design The BFA in Interior Design features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. During this degree program, students are asked to develop a design concept for an interior space and transform this concept into a practical, functional, yet innovative and exciting environment that meets the needs of the client. Students also use computer-aided design technology to develop and enhance their individual projects.
International BusinessInternational Business The Associate of Arts in International Business features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience in the field. The technology-enriched curriculum is designed to enhance students' written communication and oral presentation skills. Some of the key topics covered in the program include financial accounting, leadership and management, ethics, business law, economics, and organizational behavior.
Media ProductionMedia Production The AIU Media Production program strives to provide students with both a solid academic foundation as well as industry-current skills in a variety of fields, including audio and sound recording, editing, digital design, computer animation, lighting, scriptwriting, and even directing. Graduates can be well-positioned to compete for entry-level jobs in this exciting industry.
Visual Communication: DesignVisual Communication: Design The Associate of Visual Communication: Design features industry-relevant coursework taught by faculty members with real-world experience. Some of the key topics addressed in the degree program include drawing and illustration, typography, fundamentals of graphic design, and strategies for working effectively within a design team.
